We enjoyed the Valentine's night performance of the Full Monty musical. The cast of performers, the band and all of the volunteer production staff, did a great job. Their next production is 39 Steps in April. You can enjoy community theatre at reasonable rates, in an attractive setting. The former Whitby courthouse has been restored and is used for the theatre, weddings and other public events.

Nice place to watch plays. We had seen Rocky Horror Picture Show. Alot of the original architecture is still visible as well as photos of the area from the past.

We enjoy ALL of the plays put on at the theatre. We find that the cast is very well chosen and props/scenery used for a small stage is excellent. We have had season's passes for about 25 years. Well done. We totally enjoy them.

The Whitby Courthouse Theater presents many original plays, but I really enjoy when they perform "their" interpretation of a classic. The scripts and costumes are excellent and generally exceed my expectations.I have thoroughly enjoyed myself whether I am atttending the shows or volunteering (as front of house staff).

Whitby Courthouse Theatre is located on Centre St. in downtown Whitby. We have seen many shows there, and have been season ticket holders for quite a few years now. It is an intimate theatre setting with just over 150 seats. Every seat has a great view of the stage, and you can normally hear every word. The building was an old courthouse that has been converted. You can take a look around at part of the building that even includes holding cells!To get tickets, we have gone to La Fontaines at the four corners in Whitby. They are very helpful, and will direct you to the best seats available.As for the shows, while they showcase local talent, that talent seems like it rivals some of the Toronto productions! They normally show a comedy, drama and musical each year (three shows in total). Prices are very low for the entertainment you get out of it! The shows have won a number of awards, and normally run in November, February, and April.There is a parking lot in the back (free), and street parking out front. Since it is close to downtown, there are a number of pubs nearby to go to after the show to talk about what you just saw! Definite worth going to if you are in town when a show is on!

Lovely intimate theatre owned by the Town of Whitby and run by a very talented group of citizens.Have had the pleasure of viewing a few theatrical plays by local actors and have never been disappointed.Not a bad seat in the house and parking is free and on the property.Well worth visiting.
