We enjoyed the Bondar exhibit and the high-school art too. The latter gave us pause to think. But I loved the photos by Dr. Bondar. The staff was very friendly and the gift shop was fun to browse around and we picked up a few nice cards and specialty buttons - my wife knits and found some buttons that were perfect for one of her projects.

Exhibits were okay, but could have been more. Place is good to visit if wanting to put in time for a bit while waiting for other things.

We went as it sounded like a great place to see Group of Seven art. We get there and are told there is a "special" Group of Seven exhibit in the first hall that is why the admission is more than stated on the website. We view the "special" exhibit and one other hall and that was the whole gallery. I thought oh look stairs their must be more upstairs, but it was marked employees only. I am pretty sure we did not miss anything. My husband called it the Bachlor Apartment of an art gallery. We were disappointed.

We found out after paying our admission that only one exhibit hall was open. We saw some interesting Inuit art, courtesy of some generous patrons. However, I would have expected to hear/see much more about the Group of Seven who spent so much time in the Algoma area.

The curator gave my students a very clear description of the exhibits and greater insights into art appreciation. Afterwards, everyone completed an activity in the Ken Danby Room that made them feel like accomplished artists. Thank you, Lori

There are always interesting exhibits in the main gallery and they do revolve. The curators are very good at bringing in art that tells a story of the region or of a Canadian nature. Side exhibits are unique and worthwhile. Nice gift shop for people who are from out of town. Definitely worth a visit on a lazy afternoon with the family.

Good to take a look if you have nothing to do in the town.It has some interesting exhibition, and you can buy some local artists work in the shop.

The best thing is the visting sculptures. They are very cool. The painting are ehhh. There are some very nice one but the are more truly horrible paintings. I don't mind modern painters but this is abstract art at its worst. If not for the abstract i would give 5 stars. There are some nice water subject photos that I really liked. Don't expect over the moon and you'll enjoy your visit. Staff is sper friendly.

We saw an excellent exhibit of sculptures by Abraham Anghik Ruben, which was definitely the highlight of the visit to the gallery. The gallery is pretty small, there was not much else on display. Staff was super friendly.

This museum offered some interesting insights into local history and culture. I have seen local museums with better organization and explanations. But it was an interesting visit.

We were really looking forward to seeing the Art Gallery on our weekend visit to Sault Ste Marie. We couldn't believe it when we realised it was closed on Sunday!!! When do they think that people will visit if not at the weekend? It seems crazy to have it open all weekdays, when most people are at work, and then shut on Sunday. We were very disappointed, and it doesn't seem to make sense for the Gallery itself or for tourism in the Soo.

It was very brief, and filled with modern art.Marshall McLuhan said that "Art is anything you can get away with." It was filled with contemporary art as well as some performance art. There is very little in the way of historical arts and methods.I was disappointed by the brevity and selections. I will not be returning.
