We stopped on a Saturday afternoon and the joint was hopping! There is a small eatery and a store with goods from all over the are including to-die-for cinnamon buns, a wide selection of buns, amazing chocolate milk, cheeses and so much more! I can't wait to try out the cider that we brought home! We didn't get a chance to eat in as it was super busy... I think it serves wood fired pizza. Smelled yummy!
Didn't know the restaurant and Cider y existed for the past 5 years, and we literally discovered as we drove past on Boston Mills Road. Please plan on spending at least 30 to 45 minutes to look over all the local goods being offered, realized that due to time that 10 minutes didn't give you the time to explore all the baked goods, and all the products being offered. We went to the restaurant/bar and realized not alot of space if provided, so call ahead to try to reserve a table if you can. The pizza was great!! the ability to try a sample size of the different apply ciders including pear and other ciders is a great way to ensure you dont order a pint to discover your not a big fan of that particular cider.. Staff was quick, full house with many waiting to get into the restaurant, and food came out in a timely fashion.. Reasonable value for a very nice wood fired pizza. Look forward to going back many times.. Lots of free parking, and would be fun for everyone from 2 to 82 to enjoy..
We've been to the spirit tree several times before. Usually eating in their restaurant and buying some items in their store. This Sunday we had a very bad experience. We always order the pizza and this time it really was not good. In addition the attitude of the servers and the staff in general was really really bad. I know they were busy but there's just no excuse for a bad attitude. I don't think we will be returning.
For about 4 years or so now I've been going to Spirit Tree and have seen them grow. The ciders offered are amazing, I haven't had one that I dislike. The pizza is so good, and unique flavors. The baked goods in the store are top notch. I just can't say enough about the products offered.Granted, in recent times the popularity has grown and, as you would expect, that means the traffic in the store and restaurant has gone up making it harder at times to get a table or certain products will sell out faster. That's a little annoying but it's also nice to see the business thrive. All in all, it's a great place.
We waited in line for a table but we were seated at the bar. We waited 20 mins we were ignored the waiter and waitress took everyone else's orders but they didn't even speak to us. The couple sitting next to us got their drinks right away. We noticed that people seated at the tables were there before we arrived and waiting a long time no food served. We walked away from the cafe we were disappointed by the poor service. The only beverages are different types of alcoholic and non alcoholic cider, no pop, no kid's menu. Least expensive $8 for a bowl of soup and most expensive $31 for cheese platter.
The food is good and fresh although overpriced for the little amount you get. The service is Terrible!!! I was literally standing at the bar waiting for someone to take my order for almost 15 minutes! The manager, wait staff (total of 5 people ) were all buzzing around me, pouring cider, taking to locals and ignoring me completely. I had to borrow a menu as that wasn't offered to me either. I would not go back. The views are lovely but you can drive around anywhere nearby to see the same. I would suggest the Inglewood general store as an alternative as they will actually treat you as a customer and service you properly with fresh salad, sandwiches and Kawartha dairy ice cream.
Best pizza I've ever had. My only regret is that I did not get a whole one to take back with me. I love cider and ordered the paddle which had 4 samplers. It was nice to try the different varieties. Would definitely make the drive 2 hr drive again! Beautiful setting for the restaurant.
the best best best oven pizza ever .. there isnt anything bad to say about all place.. prices, service location.. all amazing
It's funny how many times I've visited Spirit Tree Cidery but never taken the time to get a cidery tour or a full tasting. I had the opportunity to go and taste their wonderful alcoholic apple products along with their amazing breads (from their oven!) and wonderful cheeses. If you love to have a good time, learn about the process of how your food is made and just spend some time with people you enjoy the company of, this is a great place to go.I love that they focus heavily on local products and sustainable practices. They have grown somewhat since I last visited so that's great to see that whatever it is that they're doing is working. The tour is not exhausting and requires a little bit of time outdoors (like 10 minutes, maybe?) and then the remainder is indoors. The only thing is there are stairs and no lift available for those who might need it. My friend handled it just fine but it certainly is something to consider for those less abled.A fabulous activity to do on an afternoon in the summer or even fall. We stayed nearby at Cadogan Farm Adventures and this was one of our few off property events. It was thoroughly informative and enjoyed by all.
Fresh food, excellent cider and wonderful service. A great place to relax and enjoy local fare. I will visit throughout the year.
Although I enjoy the food here I do find the staff to be a little unfriendly/borderline rude. I really prefer my service with a smile. I hadn't been in a while and they have changed the menu, it wasn't as good as before but the share platters are still tasty.
Whether you are driving or cycling by, a stop at Spirit Tree is well worth it. It is a gorgeous setting; a beautiful building set among the orchards. The people are so lovely and welcoming and the atmosphere of the place is something special. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely pizza lunch on the patio, which was so delicious and very filling. We also purchased some crab apple cider to take home with us. We will definitely be back to enjoy one the the cider tasting flight. Go visit, you will love it too!
Great stone oven baked goods done in traditional baking methods. But it's the cider that makes this place. Nothing better on a warm summer day than sitting on their deck with a nice cool glass of pub cider and a cheese plate. Weekends offer several choice offerings of focaccia style pizza's , a few sandwich or soup plates. Friday evenings are reserved for more traditional style pizza.
Was here just recently, had a slice of their wood burning oven pizza, it was very good.Tried the pear cider, was very nice. I also bought the regular apple cider to take home, that was delicious. I like that you can buy ready made items, or you can purchase frozen items, and take home. The store part, is full of all sorts of different items, for purchase. They have a large selection of Artisan breads, and other sweet items.
We recently had the opportunity to have lunch at the Spirit Tree Estate Cidery. Additionally, for a minimal fee we took part in a brief tour of the inner workings of the fairly new establishment in Caledon, Ontario. There is also a small shop as part of the venue which sells home baked breads, muffins, tarts, pies, quiche and oven baked pizzas. And - of course - all sorts of cider as well! Nice afternoon out with friends and family.
