fairwinds farm & stables

Fairwinds is owned and operated by Ted and Joanne Dawson. This lovely property is equestrian based (demonstrations in the enclosed arena, carriage rides, teas, etc.). Joann has been in several Hollywood movies featuring riding and roping. There is also a gift shop on the property. A very nice addition to anyone's day.

We had a very enjoyable stay in the 'rooster room'. Both rooms are nicely decorated. Extra heater provide if you like - but not needed. Only 10 minute drive to nice town of North East [and less to I95]. Our hosts joined us at the breakfast table - wish was a nice change from being served. We enjoyed the conversation, and the food. Recommended, for sure.

My daughter and I came here for the horseback trail ride – and we had a blast! JoAnn Dawson did a very good job as our guide. Five of the six in our group had never been on a horse before, so we started out in their indoor ring. JoAnn helped everyone mount and gave detailed instructions on how to control our horses. Then we went on an hour long ride through the fields and woods on their property. We finished up with a trot up the hill back to the stables. A great time was had by all!
