There's a nice lake, but the park needs more shelters and certainly more parking. Not easy to have a large party here because your guests have to hike in.

The Park is well maintained, home to natural beauty, and sports a wide range of facilities - from playgrounds, fishing areas, and picnic tables. The track is well kept and the run is ideal in terms of length, view, and elevation. We love this park, please treat with respect.

The most significant part of Buddy Attick Park is Greenbelt Lake. It's about 27 acres of beauty in the midst of the suburban sprawl. There is a walking path all the way around it and the Greenbelt city staff keeps the whole place clean and well-kept. Adjacent to the lake is an athletic field and eight free tennis courts.About the only negative thing one might say about Greenbelt Lake is that you can hear the Capitol Beltway a little bit, especially during months when the leaves are off the trees.

I live just up the hill from Buddy Attick Park and walk around the lake at least once a week, weather permitting. It's a nice place any time of year but gorgeous in the fall. If you're visiting the DC area, there are better places to go, but if you're local and are looking for a place to hang out, have a picnic, or take a nice walk, this is a great option.

Great park to walk, run or leisurely stroll. Gorgeous lake among the picnic tables and spacious fields. Within walking distance of beautiful old Greenbelt downtown. Experience the out doors here. Bring your fishing rod

Simple but nice trail. Many walkers, joggers and dog walkers. Play area for kids. Standard park bathrooms.

A little known park with a wonderful lake to take a stroll around after a fast pace downtown. Stop by the softball field to watch a few innings. Just like Mayberry!

This is a nice place to relax, walk, jog, or run. There are great locations and areas for picnic. The tables are free and trash cans and grillers are within the vicinity. There is a nice and safe playground for children, as well. Children love to come back here.

I lived in nearby College Park during grad school and never knew this lake and park were here. After asking around for playground recommendations for my toddler daughter (I never have good luck trying to find parks online) I was told about this park. It was perfect. The playground is nice, with structures for little kids and big kids plus swings. There is a great building with bathrooms (including changing tables), and of course there is the small lake with a trail around it. We were there during the peak of fall colors, so it was gorgeous too.

Walkable, bike able, beautiful trail around a lake. See ducks, geese, water mammals. Many people use this park for daily exercise.

It's a well-used park that has a good walking trail used extensively by area residents. It has a lake that was built in the 1930's as part of the original Greenbelt FDR-era planned town. There are a number of events, and the 4th of July fireworks are always well-attended.

HickoryRidge

Best time to go there is when there are community activities, such as the Fourth of July Fireworks. Otherwise, it's best for simple relaxing after walking around the lake. Great for picnics and just chillin'.

Today I walk my dogs around the lake an love the experience. As a kid we played on the payground and have many fond memories. The lake has great holiday events like the 4th of July fireworks an Easter Egg Hunt. I have even seen a wedding take place at the park.

Myknee

A small park with a lake that overflows with wildlife. The walking trail around the lake is a scenic and peaceful stroll.

Buddy Attick Park is a wonderful place to walk, relax and fish. It has a wonderful children's playground and a place to train dogs. The Lake is stocked with fish and is home to many ducks and some Canada geese, in summer there are water turtles as well. A beaver family has built a dam there for several years in a row they are fun to watch but threaten the trees. A short walk away there are tennis courts, volley ball courts, and a base ball diamond. Buddy Attick park is a short walk from the Roosevelt center in Greenbelt which is home to the New Deal Cafe, a neighborhood hot spot with wonderful food and a great line up of live bands, a great single screen movie theater, Chinese restaurant, and the Greenbelt Art center a local black box theater. Check the park out and then take a walk or a drive and see what the rest of the neighborhood is like.
