frostburg depot

Little information of value on site. Seemed as if there were a number of people wandering around looking for information. Many restaurants in the area were closed - possibly the season was over.

The depot is part of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad out of Cumberland. You can see the old depot which was restored in 1989 as well as the turnstile for the trains. The depot is very close to the Thrasher Carriage Museum. We happened to be having lunch nearby and we were glad we came upon it. Cool part of history even if you don't know much about trains!

После часовой экскурсии на поезде вы попадаете на ж/д станцию Фростбурга. Стоянка около часа, за это время старый локомотив на специальной платформе разворачивают на 180 градусов. Если есть желание, то можно подняться по деревянной лестнице на главную улицу городка, а можно остаться на станции и перекусить.
