I Liked this because it has a special part in the civil Rights Movement in American History! Great place to see History at its turning point for African Americans!
Currently, you will not see much that relates to Harriet Tubman at the road marker; However, if you drive past Black Water just a bit, you will find the country grocery store that was frequented by Harriet Tubman. In addition, back at the road marker, you will soon see the start of construction of a museum dedicated to Harriett Tubman. For further information, either call or Google Dorchester County Tourism....Or strop in at the amazing Visitors Center at Sailwinds Park in Cambridge...Home of the Tourism Department.
there is nothing to see for the long drive off of route 50 to get there. although it is a piece of history, there was nothing there to keep me there
On a country road, in the middle of farm fields sits a marker that is the best guess to the birthplace of Harriet Tubman. There isn't much around besides a historical marker and a weather history of her life and the area. A marker that reminds us of a different time and how Americans have made our country better.
