The Constitution is about to be put into dry dock for several years so we got lucky with this one. The Navy personnel there are very friendly and because it was so quiet we got a one on one tour with one of the crew. He was very knowledgeable and didnt seem to get annoyed with out stupid questions.

Called ahead to make sure it was open, only to get there and find out the closed stopped at noon on Friday. So much for planning. However, we got pictures of the ship and learned about its rich history. If you're a huge Navy-buff. This is a must-see.

Oldest commissioned ship in the US Navy...built in Boston and fought British war ships...remained undefeated...A British sailor noticing his cannons balls where just bouncing off the Constitution's hull proclaimed 'she must be built of iron!'...US sailors will guide you on this history tour...She's docked proudly at the Boston Naval Base (also on display a US WWII Destroyer; the 'Cassin Young')

If you have some time, I recommend stoping by this amazing ship! It was fun to climb down into the interior and hear the interpreters (who were actual Navy officers) talk about the ship. Great photo op as well.

On board exhibition was excellent, made all the better by having crew on board to answer questions. The exhibits in the man building were equally fascinating. First class.

Museum was great for kids or teens. Very good explanations of the history and lots of games. Very interactive.

When it comes to history it is nice to see pictures and read about it, but when you get to see it and experience the feeling on being on the boat is nice. The ship is well preserve and is amazing to see the decks, the cannons and cabins. It would be nice to see the sails open.

The US Navy's oldest active duty ship is manned by US Navy Sailors who are knowledgeable and proud of their ship. They are very friendly and will assist in any way they can to make your visit a memorable one. I enjoyed my visit and was able to purchased a flag and fly it onboard while I was there. Awesome experience!!!

Unfortunately, the ship will be in dry dock for 3 years starting March 2015, but you will get the opportunity to see a ship in dry dock and learn more about it at the USS Constitution Museum.

The tour of the ship along with the museum to follow was pretty good. The kids enjoyed being on the ship however, the only downfall is there isn't much else in the Navy Yard to do. There is a short walk to the North End for lunch and some Itialian pastries that is always a plus. I still would recommend this to folks visiting the area and especially to those who are walking the freedom trail.

Wait till you do the tour...and....make sure you go thru the museum. The ship is so clean, you could eat off the floor.

Even if I'm not that into historical ships my partner truly is and we made a visit to the USS Constitution during our Freedom Trial-walk. The small museum you get to pass before visiting the ship gives you all the information needed and as you get onboard the ship you travel back in time. Spontanic guiding onboard is helpful and the ship is very well preserved.

I have been to Boston many times but had never visited the USS Constitution. meeting up with a friend for the day while waiting for an evening connection to LA we grabbed a few of the sights and this was one of them. I was very impressed with the condition of the ship (considering her age -more than 200 years old) even though the curator was telling me she will be moving into the dry dock and will be undergoing a major refit - so I was glad to see her before that happened although a lot of the cannonary and fittings were already removed in preparation. We weren't allowed to the lower decks but despite that it really was well presented - very informative and easy to relate to. The museum was staffed by enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful volunteers.Overall the information was presented in a fresh, informative way catering for both the historically inclined and those not tremendously inclined - it was a very good balance between interesting and informative. I saw a lot of kids who were very engrossed.Personally I would really like to have spent a lot more time there but due to the weather and an upcoming flight this was not possible. I will have to wait till she is refitted and back in action. She is an active member of the US Navy and is used for various celebrations and occasions

Anyone who enjoys history, especially military history will enjoy visiting this. We enjoyed being on board, hearing about the building and use of the ship.
