So proud to have Black Birch Vineyard in Southampton. A luscious variety of finely crafted wines available for purchase. Also love that the vineyard holds tours on how the wine is made, makes it's beautiful property available for personal events and most importantly, holds social events which allow people from town and surrounding areas to celebrate and visit together. A great Vineyard with delicious wines. Great for dinner or gift giving. Please stop by and visit Ian. He'll be thrilled to meet you and help you out.
They took good care of our large group that came for a celebration. It was raining hard but what an outstanding evening!
If you're anywhere in the area of the Black Birch Vineyards tasting room on a nice day, take the time to drive out for a tasting, pick your favorite wine, buy a glass and get a cheese and cracker plate, then go sit on one of the chairs in the hillside picnic area and enjoy the views along with the wine. You'll consider it a perfect day
There is music every other Friday and we have gone twice now. The scenery is beautiful, there is great wine and a food offering.
Keep and eye out for musical events to be enjoyed with astounding views, great wine, and usually tasty food trucks. Although we went as a date, many families were in attendance with lots of room for children to get up and move :)
We had a wine tasting here, place was a little small, but plenty of room outside on the grounds. The wine wasn't to bad, I enjoyed it.
What a great way to take in the beautiful Mountain range of western ma . We started with a tasting of 5 wines we were not familiar with to choice our favorite. The staff were friendly knowledgeable and encouraging to step out of our normal likes. After choosing our favorite we grabbed a bottle two glasses, yummy cheese board to accompany the wine and headed outside to enjoy the scenery . Whether your with a group and choose the picnic tables , or Adirondack chairs, or simply bring a blanket and share with your loved one it's so relaxing. The afternoon we were their we had an added treat, there were 8 hand gliders taking to the sky off of Mt Tom. Great way to spend a summer afternoon.. Can't wait til the fall with the foliage.
My father took me to Black Birch after raving about their wines. I was pleasantly surprised on arrival at the beautiful and bucolic setting. After we did the tasting, the owners brought us our chilled Reisling (delicious!) with glasses out to the lounging area in the vineyard fields. We sat in adirondack chairs looking out at the mountain, fields, and farm below enjoying the day and our wine. When my husband arrived into town a week later, I made sure to go back! Black Birch is a hidden gem, I highly recommend going with friends or family for a relaxing afternoon.
Very small winery but they offer 6-7 nice wines. They only have been open a few years. They grow some of their grapes and bring in the others (whole grapes). All crushing, fermentation, etc. is done in basement of antique barn (tasting room is above). Winery is about 15 minutes from Northampton, MA. Several restaurants in the area serve their wine. It is also available at Northampton Farmer's Market. Fun stop for some nice wines. Too cold the day we stopped, but there are picnic tables and occasional events held in fields behind the winery.
This winery was a bit off the beaten path but well worth it. The wines were excellent, the owners informative, and the Laughing Tomatoe wood fired pizza that was on site was delicious. After the tasting we ordered pizza and took a glass of wine to a pair of lovely adirondack chairs. What a spectacular view there was to take in while we waited for the pizza.
Nice view of Mt. Tom, and lots of rolling fields. Small wine tasting room, and small variety, but very tasty wines! It was too hot to sit outside, but we got a bottle to go after our tasting and loved it. The tasting is $6 for five wines, and an additional $3 if you want the glass, and glasses of wine are $7 each, it's well worth the cost. Unless the pizza truck is there the only option for food is cheese, but that's good enough for me!
We've been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed each experience. It's small as far as the actual tasting room goes but they handle everything smoothly. The wines are fabulous. You gotta see the cork moose head...too funny. The grounds here are so scenic you just have to sit a spell and relax. They frequently have a local wood-fired brick oven pizza maker on the premises (The Laughing Tomato) and it's wonderful pizza, especially with the wine. It's a wonderfully pleasant way to spend an hour (or two).
