Personally, unless you are assured of bountiful flowers in bloom, this is an over-hyped waste of time. You might as well go hiking in your back yard. Seriously, I don't understand what the draw is. I've lived in Framingham most of my life.

This is a quiet gem in Framingham. If you like flower gardens, then this is definitely worth the trip. If you like to spend some serene moments in a beautiful place, then go here! Also great for children!!!

My daughter and I went to the Garden in the Woods as part of the free museum day organized by the Smithsonian Magazine. I had never been there before and wasn't sure what to expect, but I'd say it's worth the visit. Even in September there were still several plants blooming, plus the area was tranquil and it was nice to just stroll down the winding paths and read the numerous displays about the plants and habitats placed along the way.A visit to the Garden in the Woods is not just a nature walk, it's also an educational experience. There is also a museum store by the entrance where you can buy a variety of interesting crafts made of recycled materials, and a nice selection of books about gardening. There are also native plants for sale. You can read about our visit to the Garden in the Woods on our blog, http://casualtraveler.com/. Feel free to ask us questions.sincerely,Jolanta, one of the Casual Travelers

Looking for a place to catch up with nature? Check out this local gem! Beautiful, well carved out paths wind your way through this protected land. It's nice to look down at all of the flowers, plantings and critters, but take the time to stop and look up at the tree tops every now and then--awesome. Great for family, couples or even alone.

Ever take a walk in the woods and see some beautiful plants and wonder what you are looking at? Well - at the Garden In The Woods you will see excellent specimen of native plants and you will know what you are looking at as well - they provide good signage. There are several walks - none of them difficult and all of them offer a good variety of plants. If you need to get the kids out of the house this is a great way to do it. The children's area is a real treat for adults and kids. I went on a rainy, wet day in October but I would love to go back in the summer when the flowers are all in bloom. Still....there was a lot to see and the smells were amazing! Oh yeah - there is a great shop and there are discounts for veterans and active duty military as well!

It is very hidden not easy to find it. But very tranquil and pretty once you got into the garden. Friendly staff.

I can imagine that this place can be spectacular. However it was anything but. Simply because the gardens had peaked and were quite flowerless all over. I did ask about what was in bloom and was told several areas had plenty of blooming plants. They did not. I would suggest their site should post pre, peak and post peak timely schedules. They may lose a few visitors because they warned you but the flip side is those with my experience will not be return customers.

I was so excited to go to the Garden in the Woods and have been thinking of it for awhile. I was even trying to get someone to come with me. I would have felt bad because it was not what I expected. I live in Zone 5 and wanted to get some ideas on Different Native plants because you can't always find those at regular garden centers I paid 12 dollars to get in. so as I started out walking around the paths it occurred to me there weren't many plants in bloom however plants were marked with names. I did take some pictures of these signs so when I went to the garden center there, Of course the plants that I thought were interesting had no markers. The garden center there was really small. Think I have more plants in my small garden. There are trails to walk but by the time I decided I wanted to home to work in my own garden I just didn't do them. If you have shade gardens maybe It would interest you more. I have a lot of sun so it wasn't right for me. It is a nice trail walk although I would have just as much enjoyed doing this around my neighborhood. Wish I had used my 12 dollars for plants at garden center near me.

We take a walk through Garden in the Woods at least once a year. It consists of various naturalistic habitats that are well labeled. It combines a serene and aesthetically pleasing immersion in nature with a learning experience. I fondly call the Wild Flower Society "the society for the prevention of cruelty to plants". Supporting them is a great cause because they work to preserve our natural habitats. The trails are well marked and there are short and longer walks. The way it is designed, it seems much bigger than it actually is.

No matter how many times i,ve visited Garden in the woods, i,ll always feel like i want to come back. It,s a piece of home for me. It,s the rest of my parents backyard, figuratively, as it is in the neighborhood where i grew up but but it,s shared by all. Garden in the woods is a slice of tranquility that this neighborhood shares with the outside world.

A lovely drive from NH. Acres of beautiful landscaping and wildflowers. Interesting 2 hour tour. Terrific shop with flowers, shrubs and trees as well as books and gardening goodies.

If you are into nature, wildflowers and a walk in the woods this is the place! Nature at it's best! Easy paths or some wooded trails all with wildflower everywere. Benches for those who may need to sit and rest overlooking flowers, trees and ponds. Spend as little or as much time enjoying your surroundings. After stop into the nursery and maybe take home a plant or two! I did.

Garden in the Woods is absolutely beautiful. It is most spectacular in the spring, but lovely throughout the season. Our latest visit included elderly guests with impaired vision and difficulty with strenuous walking but the walk was enjoyable for both. We appreciated the many benches and resting spots along the way. I was surprised and pleased to find that the gift shop not only has bathrooms, but also sells beverages and healthy snacks, as well as bug repellent and sunblock! There are also some play areas for children, most of whom will probably find it boring to listen to botanical minutiae, but they can always do the trail in double time and get twice the work out!

This takes the "walk in the woods" to a new level, with beautiful natural plantings and informative labels. Lovely at any time of year, spectacular in the spring with flowering shrubs. An easy path. The nursery is nice, too.

This garden is all about living in Ne England and has the best selection of native plants in the area. You can depend on the plants you buy and you get to see in real life what your garden can look like. The trails are easy and there is always something special to see.
