It's very clean. Beautiful picnic area, Very affordable for whole family. They also have pavilion type areas that can be rented for larger gatherings, located with a more private setting. Beach, dressing rooms, bathrooms. Fishing too!
See the Dam and get outdoors for some fresh air and exercise. Very pleasant and not very busy. Nice place for some solitude.
The buffumville area is great, not too populated, nice little beach, an awesome dam with a frisbee-golf park. A great setting for families. It's only $1 per person for the beach and the Dam park (located down the street) is free.
This is a nice place to bring the children to enjoy the lake, have a picnic, or play in the sand. It's always clean and we have lots of fun there.
Whether its playing safely with little ones in the water..or fishing..or my "fav",kayaking..its the local place to go. It's affordable since it's a state park and the entry fee is very affordable.
A great day on the ice with the kids. Nice folks and a warm fire. Groovy Native Drumming. Refeshments provided. Lessons given.
I did not like anything about my experience at Buffumville.. It was dirty, overcrowded, and just not a place i will ever revisit. Terrible experience.
I walk my dog at the nearby dam and around the lake on marked trails. In July 2012 I reserved the smaller covered patio for a family cook out. The low fee of $50 was well worth it. Located between the parking area and swim beach there are picnic tables, a large grill and even an electrical outlet. The day was hot and humid but we were cool and comfortable under the pavilion surrounded by trees and far enough away to have a great time without bothering others if we got a bit loud. The swim beach is clean, and rest rooms are located near the beach, though there is not a shower for rinsing off. . A bonus is being able to bring the family dog. Dogs are welcome anywhere but the swim beach, and must be on leash. There is also a large pavilion that holds up to 100 near the beach. I have also been to Buffumville to swim and picnic at other times. Its a great summer spot to spend the day, or after work to swim or walk/hike through the woods. There is a nominal parking fee. The property is very well maintained.
Buffumville Lake is located near me and we have visited it several times. You can go hiking around it all year long. It is a little strenuous but the scenic views will make it rewarding. There is a beach that is across the street that locals visit in the summer. You can have a small cookout near the shore, set up your blanket and enjoy a nice summer day with your family. If you have a camper or tent you can even camp overnight. Some small motor boats are allowed on the lake and fishing which is good is also permitted. All in all, it isn't that big but offers a lot of options for things to do.
