I found the rental area neat and organized making the process very smooth. Employees were great. The trails were easy to follow with the map and of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty. Had a great time, highly recommend.
Nicely groomed trails through the New England woods. Nothing special or magic, but a nice place to ski for a few hours and THEY RENT EQUIPMENT. Drive a bit further to Windblown in NH for more interesting skiing. But they do a good job here.
At one time we took the kids there to learn how to ski, now going with friends. Great place to get away for a few hours.
Great little ski area, with nicely groomed trails and plenty of non-groomed if you are adventurous. There is snowshoeing available as well.
Well maintained trails & lots of them. From easy to hard hikes available. & great ice cream too! Lots of animals for the kids to visit. All around fun place.
We love Great Brook Park in all seasons...and the skiing concession does a great job of grooming the trails. We have rented equipment for family and friends and been very happy with the service and quality.Great family outing... Trails for all skill levels.
Love this place. We were there this past week-end on a nice sunny Sunday afternoon. It had snowed the day before - the trails were excellent and well groomed. There's a few miles of trails that will bring you through wooden areas, meadows, next to a farm where you can hear the cows. Bring a lunch or some snacks for a break - there are some picnic tables where you can eat. People who say they don't enjoy winter should go outside and give this place a try in my opinion. It is just 45 minutes away from Boston and makes a great escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city + it's a great exercise for your entire body! You can rent the equipment there if you don't have one. Some week nights they offer night skiing. Must be a pretty neat experience, especially on a full moon night. We hope to go back soon to give the night ski a try.
Winter entices with plenty of groomed trails and easily rented cross country ski equipment, summer is excellent with ice cream and tons of great walking trails, Win-Win!
This is a bargain for outdoors family recreation. We particularily enjoy the lantern loop which features lighted night time skiing once a week. Lots of fun and no lift lines.
I first visited Great Brook in winter when I was learning to x country ski. Nice variety of trails, some even available by lantern light for evening skiing. Rentals are reasonable and so is the hot cocoa. But in summer there is also a wonderful walking trail system. Just print your trail map from their website since they're usually out. Dogs on leash are welcome. There's a working dairy farm with ice cream and a beautiful picnic area. One of our favorite local destinations.
The facilities are rustic but effective, the staff is friendly, the selection of skis and equipment to rent is excellent but snacks and warming room are very basic indeed (a lightly converted barn, with wood stove and picnic tables). The ski trails are beautiful and excellently maintained for both skate skiing and ski-touring. Most are fairly easy: the few harder trails are clearly marked. There are plenty of trails with a variety of landscapes. The night skiing is great- very romantic, on a very well laid out trail. An excellent date option, or go alone or with friends. I have gone many times, and really enjoyed it.
