westgate lanes

My husband and I visited Westgate Lanes because we wanted to visit their pro shop. We had recently started leagues at another alley which is really more an entertainment facility (picture cosmic bowling and pitchers of beer) and had trouble finding balls to fit our fingers.We found Westgate Lanes from an internet search and were amazed to read that a man had bowled a record breaking 900 series just a few weeks before!We went and bowled 3 games on a Saturday morning and the games were only $3 a piece. There are 50 lanes so I cannot imagine there would ever be a long wait. There are also both big ball and candle pin bowling available. There were plenty of lanes open on Saturday morning. The lanes are well kept and this is a place for serious and new bowlers. The auto scoring is well done and I liked the automated coaching. The facility apart from the lanes could use some updating. There is also has a snack bar, a pro shop and a fun and games /arcade section. After bowling, we went to the pro shop and were custom fitted for nice beginner's balls. There were balls in stock and we went shopping at a local grocery store while they were drilled. They also provide a pass for a free game to test out your new ball. We love our new balls, but sadly, no 300 game for me afterwards! :)If you are looking for an traditional bowling center for some good fun, this is the place for you.
