lower white river museum state park

Although this museum is small compared to a lot of museums, it is packed with great the great history of the White River (when steamboats were king), Native American artifacts, Civil War, and of course agriculture. Back in the day the White River was a major commercial navigable waterway and Des Arc was a vibrant economic stop on the river. the LWR State Park is a great day trip. I suggest visiting it in conjunction with the Grand Prairie Museum in Stuttgart. Since it is state park, the facility is nice and the staff is very knowledgeable. The museum contains a lot of Prairie County history also. Highly recommended.
