We stopped after seeing this wine at a restaurant in a different city. I didn't try the wine at the time but strawberry-rhubarb wine sounded interesting. We did the $5 wine testing and tried several different wines (including the strawberry-rhubarb).The wine was good (fruity but not too sweet) but I think we enjoyed the company and visit even more. We were the only ones in there and enjoyed talking with our server. We did end up buying several bottles to take home. We highly recommend this place.

We stopped by the winery for a tasting. We received great customer service in a comfortable, relaxed setting. I enjoyed sampling the wines. I would visit again.

I'm an admitted wine snob. The place was gorgeous. The setting couldn't have been more beautiful and the staff were fantastic. The gift shop was excellent! the snacks provided wonderful. The wine....not so much. Again, remember I am an admitted wine snob. I am super picky about my wine and unfortunately these just didn't cut it for me. I would say it is worth the stop though.

We stayed here on out honeymoon for 2 wonderful day! They were more than accommodating when we asked for a midnight check in. When we arrived in the cowboy suite we were welcomed by a bottle of house wine, as well as a special wedding present; another bottle of wine, bag of extra sweet treats, and a gorgeous arrangement of flowers. All of the staff was warm and inviting, and knew us by name. The wine tour with Louie was informal but but incredibly informative. We loved that so much of tier process supports local business! We were allowed a free tasting (normally $5 for 6-8 wines, but you get that off of your bottle of wine purchase) and that was amazing! We loved taking advantage of the horse shoe pits and HOT hot tub. The grounds were gorgeous, and everyone encouraged us to wander through them. Thank you Bear Creek Winery, we will definitely be back!

Being that my nickname is Bear, I had to visit Bear Creek Winery just to have a look. When I travel, I do try to find local establishments to enjoy and support. The place is quaint and the staff was very friendly (gosh, I think all of Homer is friendly). I did the $5 wine tasting and picked out what I wanted. It did seem like I brought the crowd. I was the only one in the place when I arrived and when I left the place was packed. Nice variety of wines!!! I do wish they had more bear oriented wine "stuff" besides the wine. I would have liked a wood carved bear wine stopper.

We were in Homer for the week and decided to stop by. It's a really nice place. Its run by a family in Homer, and the wines they produce are really good. They purchase berries and rhubarb and other fruit from the locals to use in the wines. First we took a tour of the production building, the guide was really knowledgeable of their wine making process and happy to share the history of the winery, then we went to the tasting room to try some their wines and ended up purchasing several bottles. The chocolate offered after tasting the Port was nice and really added to the flavor. Also nice were the local handmade items available for purchase - carved wood, scarves, mittens, wine corks. We walked around the grounds when we were finished with our tasting. The grounds are well kept and offered a variety of plants to look at and enjoy. Very colorful. The view is nice too. They had a Koi pond that had some really big fish, nice. We will be going back again next time we are in Homer.

We have been to Beer Creek several times each time we enjoyed the experience. We always enjoy the wine tasting and end up buying a few bottles. They are surprisingly good at berry wines. The bar is very nice and the staff is user friendly. We will be back.

Nice little winery, lots of blends using Alaska berries, rhubarb. Not a poor wine in the batch! Nice touches were tiny cubes of Parmesean cheeses for cleansing the palate and chocolate paired with the Port. Staff was excellent.

In Homer with family...my wife, daughter and soninlaw enjoyed the wine tasting. My five year old grandson and I enjoyed wandering the grounds. We found the turtle pond and watched them and the fish. We explored the garden path looking around. And found it an easy way to keep him busy for a few minutes while the others did the wine tasting. The big old cat that welcomed us in the parking lot caught his eye too...he was a good host for the winery grounds! (PS...my wife and I did enjoy the bottle of Pear Kiwi wine she bought too!).

My traveling companion and I stayed at the winery two nights, and we enjoyed the wine tasting each night, so much so that we both brought wines home with us. The area is beautiful, the hot tub was nice, and the room was nice, but it is better suited for a couple or a family. There are two guest suites, and not much noise insulation, so be prepared to hear everything going on. That being said, the grounds were nice, and I stumbled upon a Mother Moose and her baby laying down in the shade while walking around. The room itself has everything you need to be self sufficient, and it is an easy drive to any attraction in Homer. The staff were great! They were friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. I would recommend Bear Creek to anyone that asked.

I had their Alaskan chardonnay at the Little Mermaid and loved it, so I visited and tried their other wines. Sometimes wine blended with fruit can taste kind of gimmicky, but Bear Creek creates mixtures where the flavors truly enhance each other. The Alaskan chardonnay, which has rhubarb added, is sublime. I would have bought a case, but they are unable (not their fault) to ship to Colorado. The Shirrazberry was also quite nice.

This was a fun little gem to stumble upon in Homer. All of the wines we sampled were very good and we even brought a case back with us to the lower 48. The Salmonberry wine was very unique and shows how they use what is available for wine in AK.

We love their wines! Enjoyed the wine tasting and talking with Coleen. Learned a lot about their wines. Should be on your list of places to visit in Homer.

Let me preface this review by saying if you are a wine snob and can't appreciate that not everything grows the same as Napa Valley then I suggest you not bother going to Bear Creek, For the rest of us who appreciate people making the most of the local resources we enjoy the wine and the experience. The server was real nice and I wish I could remember her name. We got a lot more samples then what we were supposed to get and we enjoyed them. The wines are fruit based but they aren't the standard cherry, blueberry, raspberry like you find in other states. they had unique flavors like gooseberry and black currant. We ended up buying a bottle of the black currant which we enjoyed on our balcony on our Alaskan cruise. The port was excellent and we brought a bottle of that to enjoy at home.

This winery is such a fun place. We did not have time to tour the grounds or winery much but what we saw was inviting.. The 5 of us enjoyed sampling the different wines Bear Creek offers. Their wines are made with many different combinations of fruit instead of grapes. My husband and I brought home a bottle of Blu Zin and another bottle of Peach Apricot. The bottles we bought were in the $20+ range so we will save those for a special occasion. Our daughter and son-in law bought 3 bottles of their favorites too. The winery also provided some crackers witha salmon spread that got rave reviews. It was a fun little side adventure that proved to be very enjoyable!
