This little gallery is more than a gallery, it is a community center where music is offered, and community events are organized. Stop in on First Friday for a real treat, meet the artist, listen to a presentation, eat some great finger food from Maura's deli next door., mingle with the locals. The Art Center is part of the developing Bunnell Street walking center. There is Bishop's Beach near by and a beautiful walking trail.
Nice gallery, where some different artists display their work. NIce to visit and look around. Very tempting to buy too many things.
We were alerted to this community gallery and were very pleased with what we found. It showcases local contemporary artists working in different media and has a monthly artist-in-residence program. There were paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewellery, items made from wood and paper. The prices varied but seemed quite reasonable for the quality of the works.
There are lots of art galleries in and around Homer. We visited quite a few and the variety and quality in the Bunnell Street Gallery made the visit worthwhile. If you're looking for art in Homer, add this one to your shot list.
The installations are very nice, and modern. Staff on hand was very friendly and helpful. There is a nice selection of smaller art items for sale, and the space is beautiful. I just wish we would have been around for one of their First Friday events!
If you're looking for interesting gifts to bring home after a trip to Homer, check this place out. They offer carefully crafted items you won't find elsewhere.
This unique local gallery, located next to Maura's, was truly awesome. You could feel the love for the artists in each display and the simply beauty of the Gallery's layout. We caught its director planting simple yet elegant plants on a warm sunny May day and were infected by the efforts to promote local artists as both people and talent. Worth a view and the Gallery is inspiring in its vision and the passion that is obvious for the artists and values it supports. Bravo!
Real Art, by Real Artists. Thought provoking. Beautiful sometimes - and sometimes not. But always, Art.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting a true feel for the Alaskan artist.
Nice variety of local art. Nice to have the artist there to talk about the exhibit. Get there early if you think you want some nibbles. Patrons hoovered the food quickly.
An interesting way to spend some time, but we only spent about 15 minutes here. Some of it was a bit too out there for us. Maybe try out a different gallery, instead.
This is cutting edge sometimes to the point of shocking but worth a look. Lots of other interesting places within walking distance also.
