kodiak national wildlife refuge

While in downtown Kodiak, make a point to stop at the Refuge Visitor Center to learn more about the natural history of the archipelago. Very nice Alaska Geographic gift shop, displays, and building.

We visited this Wildlife Refuge visitor Center while cruising in Alaska . The center has numerous displays of the wildlife of Alaska including grizzlies , salmons , birds but most importantly the skeleton of a whale found on the shore of the island a few years ago . The center is very well designed and the rangers all available to answer any query for information from the visitors . A nice way to learn more about Alaska and interesting to people of all ages !
