We came after the main season, in September, and found a nice spot on the campground right away. But even then, the campground was almost full. Beautiful scenery, good location, short travel to Steward and Hyder with access to glaciers and bear viewing. Of course, you might see a bear just there on the campground, too.
Campsite on the lake with ELECTRICAL power! Only government site have ever been to that had power. Well maintained and beautiful park.
We parked our RV in a camp site right beside the lake, we had magnificent views across the lake to the snowcapped mountains on the other side. It is one of the loveliest campgrounds on the Cassier Highway, a definite must stop if you are driving up to Alaska or the Yukon
It is a large lake in the middle of mountainous forest. The location is absolutely wonderful with beautiful scenery and very relaxing atmosphere.
I would encourage anyone travelling on Highway 37 to stop in and look at the beauty of Meziadin Lake Provincial Park. The park is situated 2 kms. south of Meziadin Junction and consists of 66 well laid out sites, many of which are right on the shore of the lake. The fishing early in the season, is nothing less than spectactular. Many dolley-varden in the 4-5 pound range can be caught, casting from shore, during the month of May. As you sit by your fire in the evening, a family of beaver may be seen travelling to and from their lodges, gathering sticks and twigs. Bears are frequent visitors to the park, both black, and the odd grizzley. The months of August and September are the best times to view bears feeding on salmon in the local creeks situated 2 kms south of the park entrance. The park has gone through an upgrade in the fall of 2005, all roads in the park have been resurfaced as well as the wheel chair acess to pit toilettes. I found the park to be extremely clean, and well maintained. If in the area, you will not be disapppointed by the beauty of Meziadin Lake Provincial Park.
