captain's lounge

This place is located within the Captain's Choice Motel on the lobby level. There is a small bar area with about 8 seats and another 6 or so tables so fairly small lounge. The views are to the harbor and pretty good. There is one TV (about a 42 inch) for viewing various sports.Two beers are tap, both local Haines brewery (IPA and Red) while I was there. If you go there during the summer season, chances are the place will be pretty full or almost empty in the winter season. Prices for drinks were reasonable and they do offer a small bar food menu.Bartender 'Sam' was great and got to rub elbows with a few local characters during my stay at the lounge. Pretty tame place compared with other Haines bars but very convenient if saying at the Captain's Choice Motel.
