The views from the lodge and and the property at Gorham's Bluff are great, but the property itself is in DIRE need of repair and maintenance. Pressure washing and painting are badly needed
This isn't really an attraction. It is a planned community that never really got off the ground. Only a handful homes were actually built in the community. There is no downtown or main street area. I think there used to be concerts and shows but those appear to be few and far between. Some of the buildings are shabby and falling into disrepair. The only thing to do is to stay and eat at the lodge. The food is pretty good and the views from the lodge are beautiful.
In my opnion this place is a wanna be 5 star Inn. The owner is a rude know it all and needs an attitude adjustment. They are also money hungry people who will steal your money with a smile on their face.
We were given this trip as a gift and it was very nice and a big change from what we were used to. Great food and a great evening. Proud we got it as a gift because we could not afford to have went otherwise
This was a pleasant surprise. We visited as a group and enjoyed a fabulous lunch on the terrace overlooking amazing views. The lodging accommodations looked amazing. A classy place to get away from it all. Beautiful
Very scenic spot. Stayed at the lodge and had a great time. The rooms are nice and the place is well taken care of. Excellent food. Borrowed bikes and wandered around the bluff. Would go back
We had are wedding here, it was absolutely amazing. The view cannot be described!
A simple place, but at times they have classical and Appalachian music. An enjoyable place. The food is not fussy, just good basic stuff.
The village is a nice place to visit and the views from the bluff and beautiful especially in the fall.
Do not come here expecting to spend a full day. But, it's a nice place to visit for a couple of hours.
We visited this B&B with some friends for a weekend. It is isolated, so don't expect NYC (or even Birmingham for that matter). The setting is gorgeous, the accommodations nice, but I couldn't get over the fact that once we entered the front door, only the doorman was genuine in his greeting. In fact, the owner was less than hospitable. They were not close to being filled with guests, so that was not factor (or maybe it was!). Dinner was good and we had a nice, quiet weekend to spend with our friends. I would say that the management could use a lesson, or two, in hospitality.
We loved the accommodations and setting. Won't stay there again because the area was too remote. It's set amid a new urban development which is struggling to grow for various reasons. The breakfast was overpriced and not tasty. Their dinner may be better.
