Great park to go for a walk or run. But don't take your dog. The paths are made of rocks and after walking my dog's feet were hurting him. The paths wander around a pond and it is mostly shaded. You don't have to pay to go in. Also a small area for family gatherings.
The park is dog-friendly and there are two entrances/parking lots. There is a police substation on-site. Don't expect a serene pristine nature park. It is a wooded wetland area, but it is also adjacent to the interstate, hotels, and other commercial properties.
I took a 3-mile hike here today. It was very enjoyable until the high humidity set in. I was enjoying my walk out in this little oasis and then I come across the red dirt from the adjacent construction site of a What-A-Burger that was spilled across the walking path and a huge tire track also in the walkway. Add to that the trees that were obviously chopped down to accomodate the new construction (I bet their customers would have appreciated parking in the shade during our hot Louisiana summers). The park is very nice, has several little pavilions that you can sit and enjoy the view. It has many opportunites to observe wildlife as well as botany. The hiking is enjoyable. Some hills but not so much that it would be a difficult hike but still challenging. Saw several runners. I am not one but they seemed to enjoy their run. People are very nice that you encounter on the trail. I had put $1.50 in my shoe to purchase a water at the vending machine near the bathroom and somewhere along the trail it fell out. I backtracked my steps and a couple who had found it was sitting on a bench waiting on me to pass by again. Thank you sweet people!
This park is free and located next to several hotels in west Monroe. That makes it very easy for visitors to run or walk the paths they have created. This park is in need up some upkeep and regraveling.
Easily accessible from the Holiday Express. This park has tranquil walking trails and is a great place to get in some exercise.
This is a beautiful, tranquil place to run or relax. People respect your privacy and generally just give a nod or quick and friendly hi when passing.
Very nice park ~ close enough to walk off raspberry cobbler from the Cracker Barrel. I visited in the evening so it was a little dark and creepy by myself, but it was nice to feel like I had gotten away from town if only for a few minutes. Would recommend checking it out.
Restoration Park has an entrance in the back of the Holiday Inn Express so I took our two Pekingese dogs up the trail. They walked out on a pier and LOVED the trail! We didn't go very far because of medical issues with the puppies, but we will come back and enjoy it. Great walkways. Many trees are marked by name. Can't wait to see more.
Nice park for a walk or run. Parts of the trail are wooded. Very nicely maintained. Some of the trees are marked with markers. Several wetland areas to see.
The trails give you a secluded feeling - is great for romantic walks or to just be alone. Bathrooms and vending machines aren't close so prepare for that. I love the little piers and sitting areas out over the water
This is a very nice attraction to the area. I love to go for walks and to find this was great. Very clean and maintained.
It was fantastic! Beautiful trails and lots of nature! Took many pictures, my wife and I went walking after a great meal! The flowers in bloom were beautiful! For the exercise minded, the best running trails I have seen to date, and exercise stations at the beginning to help stretch, etc!
The trails were a nice way to walk among hotels and restaurants. Trails were well maintained, some trees ID'd with markers and the wetlands were very attractive. A wonderful treat next behind the hotels along the highway.
Took the doggies for a nice walk here - nice shade - good trail - lots of pretty sites - nice trails - parking kind of strange - wondering if there is another parking area - but good overall!
