Joseph Biedenharn was the first bottler of Coca Cola. The home he built for his daughter Emmy-Lou is lovely with beautiful gardens. And, you can still buy an 8 oz. bottle of Coke for a nickel! The Coca Cola Museum is really interesting and they have a really nice gift shop.

there really wasn't much on coke, except a film explaining the history, it was all about the house and formal gardens. the staff were all very nice and well informed. the house tour was very interesting, and the self guided garden tour was very nice, even in the winter.

The Biedenharn Family (via a trust of some sort) did a wonderful job preserving the family home in Monroe, LA. It was very nice to learn that the Biedenharn Family was local to Vicksburg, MS and Monroe, LA and was the very first bottler of Coca Cola. The tour included a very nice video presentation, a 5 cent glass bottle of coke from a historic vending machine, a guided tour of the a wonderfully preserved home (almost everything was original), and a self-guided tour of the gardens and a bible museum. A great value for $6.00 each. I recommend a visit for anyone local to the area or simply interested in the history of the origin of bottled Coca Cola.

One of Monroe's treasures! The history of Coca-Cola bottling, coupled with an interesting collection of antiques Bible's and a beautiful garden representing the finest southern plants in their splendor! Enjoy a nickel coke from a bottle while strolling the gardens. Wonderful gift shop of garden and local artists jewelry treasures. Just a lovely way to spend a couple of hours and don't miss it during the holidays when it's all dressed for the season! A family favorite

Wonderful museum, definitely don't miss this one. Plan for a couple of hours. For $6 entry fee and free parking you get:- the Coke museum with all kinds of artifacts and a gift shop, interesting room with a Coke bar set up. Stairs up to the building.- the Bible museum which houses ancient (like 1100) pages from Bibles, some actually hand written and some with exquisite illustrations. Along with these are a contemporary painting exhibit relating to the Stations of the Cross.- Tour of the house of the Coke heiress who was a world famous opera singer. It has exquisite furnishings and lots of vintage/antique items. It is 2 story, expect to go up steep stairs.- access to the Gardens, specially landscaped and with wonderful statuary. And bring your nickels, as there is an old fashioned Coke machine. Visitors are allowed to buy 1 6oz old fashioned coke bottle each for 5 cents. Tip: do the Garden first earlier in the day when it is cooler.

Don't miss the Biedenharn when in Monroe. I've probably been six to eight times and always look forward to returning. There is much to do and see---the old family home (the tour is fascinating) with plenty or memories and antiques to delight every member of the family. The Bible Museum is not to be missed, with centuries old artifacts in abundance.Everyone loves the Coke Museum with its knowledgeable and comedic narrators and tour guides. My wife particularly loves the formal gardens behind the home and the gift shop. The ladies in the gift shop are very personable and make shopping a delight. The Biedenharn complex is so well decorated, operated, and maintained and so competently staffed, that there is simply nothing bad one can say about it. Don't miss it.J. Randolph SmithMonroe, LA

Cost pp was around $6. Tour took around 1 1/2 hours. Tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Our family enjoyed the stop and the 5 cent cokes. : - )

Starting off in the coke museum, you meet the most adorably excited tour guide who explains everything there was and is to know about the history of Coca Cola and the Biedenharn family. My family and I enjoyed learning all that there was to know because the guide made it so fun! The coke museum is followed by a tour of the gorgeous family home and backyard gardens. From that point, you are able to explore the bible museum which features various bibles and historical biblical elements from around the globe. Whether you're traveling through or live in the area, this is a must-do for monroe for all ages!

Didnt know what to expect, but its in a very nice, green area of Monroe. First they give you a tour of the coke museum, where you can buy a bottle of coke for a nickel, and give you a brief history of how the first bottle of coke was bottled right here in Monroe! Then you can tour the very nice garden, and the dope house. The lady who designed it had great tastes! The tour guides were very passionate and knew exactly what they were talking about!

I found this place on my way home from Monroe one day, and I am so happy that I did. The museum was very interesting. There was even an antique coke machine that only costs a nickel. The garden was my favorite part. It is absolutely gorgeous! It is the perfect place for senior or engagement pictures. This place is truly a hidden gem.

This is a great tour of the home of the first bottler of Coca Cola. The gardens are beautiful and the house is very interesting. It is neat to see the "high end" living of people in that day and time. Then at the end there are 5 cent glass bottles of coke you can buy. :)

I attended a Christmas concert here one year. I enjoyed it. The house was beautifully decorated. I have never been here any other time, but I would recommend going during the holiday season.

This museum is a hidden treasure in the south. It has three museums in one location and the formal gardens are beautiful. To see the museum takes about 2 to 3 hours to fully enjoy all it has to offer. Be sure and put it on your vacation plans.
