kliebert's turtle & alligator farm

We were really excited to have a chance to visit after getting to Hammond a little later than expected but the guys made it a great time and we learned a lot about gators and turtles. Highly recommend it for anyone. Wife even held a live baby gator which I would have never believed. Lot of fun and you'll meet some really nice people...

We had kids from South Korea staying with us; so we took them and our 2 children. We all loved it- very educational. Kids got to see turtles, hold a baby alligator and sit on an alligator ( mouth was bound shut.) They give you a tour of their farm and explain what they do.

Amazing tour and great valueWe visited in the off season when the Alligators were not actively feeding as they are during summer but despite that we were really satisfied with seeing them in a natural swamp setting just as they would be in the wild, and holding baby gators, yeah! There are a number of other animals also.The tour was just a short distance, not difficult at all, our tour was about 1.5hrs but there were only a very small number of people so we talked to our guide alot and got a really personal tour.Very informative, hands on, and just a pleasure to to see how passionate our guide was about so many local animals Thank you T-Mike we will be back!

We stumbled on this gem while looking for something for to do in the Hammond area with a young child (almost 3 yrs). The timing of when tours depart are a little loose, but there was plenty of animals to look at inside while we waited. The tour itself was all walking, but not strenuous and a pretty relaxed pace. There was also plenty of turtles and alligators to look at even in Dec! The alligators weren't that active and not feeding because of the time of the year, but we still not to see a number of good size gators and some younger ones. Our tour guide was pretty knowledgable and overall this was well worth the stop!

The tour guide is unbelievable. We have been there twice and thoroughly enjoyed the show. My granddaughter got to hpld a baby gator. Just yesterday (several months from visit) she took out pictures of gators to show me from the visit. Great learning experience for kids. Adults will think is cool too.

We took our four year old nephew on an alligator tour. We met our guide, Richard, who had a huge bandage on his arm. He told us he was bitten by a gator two weeks before. The gator ate four fingers off. Our eyes were bugging out looking at his arm. The tour was very interesting. We had been there 30 years ago. Same tour. No change. But our nephew loved it. He got to hold a one year old gator. He is still talking about it. I would recommend this tour to take boys. Not sure if girls would like it as much.

We stopped here on our way out of New Orleans. It was one of those things that we are so glad we did. First I did not know until after we were there awhile that this is 1st season Swamp People. While there I got to handle a baby gator, check out some prairie dogs and meet the most incredible man ever. Tours were being delayed since the owner had to go out into the swamp to help someone so they called another gentleman to take us on a tour of the farm. He had his arm wrapped up from hand to shoulder, you could see the pins sticking out around the elbow area. The gentleman gave us a very informative tour teaching us about the turtles and the gators on the farm. After the tour my husband went to speak to him and thank him for taking us out. We came to find out that this man was bitten by a gator only a month before. I would like to thank him again for that tour

I've lived near this farm for literally all my life, and have only been once during a childhood school field trip. Today I convinced my family to go with me and I'm happy I did. It was a really neat experience that's very Louisiana. We got to see many different animals and sit on a small alligator. Super cool.

We stopped on our way into New Orleans and this place was a real treat. Nice stop along the way and a nice one time see! The guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot that day about gators and turtles! Dinosaurs still roam the earth and there's a ton of them to see at this farm!!

Everyone was very nice and friendly (one of the few places we have seen that here), well worth the drive and cost to spend time with the family. would go again to Kliebert's Turtle and Alligator farm!!!

So I have to say my expectations were pretty high since I live in an area where I an walk out and see gators but I wanted to hear some unique history that each tour has to offer so as I scower the region I came across this one! The shop was underconstruction and rather bare. Just a handful of gift shop items. We tried to tell the guy some of the baby turtles were not alive but he didn't listen to us but their insides were coming out their ends from being handled by Un watched children!We waited about an hour for the tour to start but relaxed on the couches while watching crocs devower zebras on the tv! After rubbing the lucky deer rear the tour experience began! Now I have to say I cannot walk without being in a lot of pain so I use a cane for long trips! I am 26 and was pushed over by children and adults alike! I know this is not the businesses fault but I found the large tour group unruly, never followed guides directions and just rude! I would have rather had been in a smaller group maybe I could have seen stuff without getting pushed out of the way.The tour guide I think his name was Richard was very nice but I was hoping for some more history and facts instead of told to google everything! After looking at a lot of turtles I was getting Ansy to see some gators and they did not disappoint! They have some huge gators that were hand fed smelly smelly meats! So I basically walked in pain for 40 mins and found that almost to the end was the best part of the whole trip!! I almost take that back When I got to the petting zoo region! The alpaca looked in distress. I growing up on a farm was rather concerned but hoped that this was just day time penning and animals had bigger areas and better treatment after hours. I did not participate in the gator tied to the tree because after the guide stepped on his head even though he was taped it just seemed cruel! So I get I basically visited a gator turtle farm to raise animals for meat and no different than cows so I'm not offended by any of that! Over all very happy and worth the 12 dollars but I do not recommending going on a Saturday with high tourist groups if ur looking for a secluded out doors adventure!

We have all seen them on swamp people, gator boys... But there is nothing like seeing them up close and personal. They really care for their farm and the people.

Pathetic management, disgusting facities, alligator tied to a rope, this is sad, very sad. All the money coming in from visitors they can fix this place up nice!

Loved this tour. Fun and educational. Lots of turtles and gators. Check for a groupon for half off admission.

We had a great time on our tour. Our guide was very informative and gave the group a lot of knowledge about the way the turtles and gators are raised and farmed. You find a nicer guy than T Mike Kliebert. He runs a great business and is very friendly to all the customers. This is a working "FARM" not a zoo. Lots of different animals to see and my kids loved being so close to them.
