We flew with Kruger on a whim while on our way to GNP. The views, scenary, and the variety of what we saw was amazing. We saw more lakes, falls and glaciers than one could see in 10 days of hiking. Well worth the money and, don't bother driving up there afterward.Better go soon, the glaciers will be gone by 2020. It will then be called "Melted Glacier National Park".
I drove to West Glacier just after my birthday and knew I wanted to do a helicopter tour. I saw the helicopter parked and drove to the building. Since it was only me, the cost was much higher, but there were others looking to fly and another group did not make it so their was room. Within 10 minutes from parking I was in the helicopter, flying around Glacier with this incredible pilot, who is an absolute expert. I was nervous, but the views are hard to beat, much different than on the ground. Everyone should do this at least once.
We had Hiked the trails, rode the Red Buses, driven the Scenic roads, visited the small towns and all of that was great, but our vacation in Montana would not have been complete without see Glacier National Park from above. Our pilot Dan made us feel very comfortable and safe. He showed us parts of the park we could have never seen otherwise. The best part was that he pointed out the highlights but didn't over talk the scenery, we were allowed to enjoy the wonders of the world around us without the commentary. Glacier may be the "Crown of the Continent" but Kruger Helicopter Tour was the Crown of our Vacation.
Very disappointed with this company. I've never posted a negative review before, but in this instance I thought maybe it would be helpful for others. We booked (through our hotel) a one hour tour with this company a day in advance. We left the hotel at 9:00 am for the drive to the tour company office for our 10:00 am departure. We left a little early to give extra time for paperwork/etc. When we got to their office, the lady behind the desk claimed they had tried to call us as the helicopter was in for minor repairs and was not back yet. We checked our phone and they did indeed call us at 9:30 am that morn!!!Lady was apologetic but suggested we do the tour the next day, but we had already booked something else. We went to the other heli company down the street and they got us in on the next flight. Apparently, this company only has one helicopter, which is somewhat scary to me. They also seemed a little disorganized administratively. So if you have a choice, I'd book through Glacier heli-tours and NOT Kruger.
