The furnace was great but what I enjoyed the most were the surrounding sites. Frog island is a perfect spot for a wedding. Hint hint

A hands on look into America's and Kentucky past. It is amazing to see how this structure was built and to how well persevered it is today. Time has not been kind to it though...and there are many signs of degradation and some of vandalism. If you are in the area, this is worth the trip over to see.

You would never guess what a find you will come upon, pretty well in the least place you would expect. It is a bit of a trip, a nice one at that. You will come upon Aldersgate Christain Camp, which is a wonderful retreat for any term of stay. But in the middle of the campus is this huge, (Worlds largest), furnace. It was made in during a time that true craftsman were perfect at what they did. The structure is amazing and its construction is very impressive. If your in the area, its well worth seeing. If for no other reason than to be amazed that it exists and be amazed that its does where it stands.
