We are trying to visit all 50 states and I loved that we could walk over a purple bridge to Kentucky. What a unique experience. Fun time for the family and a nice city if Newport.

Great pedestrian bridge for walking, jogging, biking however you want to get across. An excellent vantage point to just stop a while and enjoy a stellar view of a beautiful city any time of day or evening.

Very cool, to see all the locks people have put on the bridge. Nice walk good views. loved all the flowers and little gardens on the bridge. And something free!!!

The purple people bridge is a great place to walk. Usually a nice breeze from the river. Fun to watch other people walking their dogs, skating, riding bikes, strolling and running. The love locks are fool.

Nice view of the river. They have benches so you can sit and enjoy the river traffic as it goes up and down. Also a nice view of Cincinnati, Covington and Newport

It's an enjoyable walk with nice views of both ky and oh. Seems that perhaps there should be a bit more presence of police, but I have never seen any trouble.

Repurposed and worth including in the Riverwalk tour. We crossed it on Segway. Very good views from the bridge.

It is a nice walk although you could always walk it. Even when traffic and trains traveled along side when it was called the L&N Bridge. Like the 4th Street Bridge connecting Newport to Covington, the Purple People Bridge now has access to the Newport flood wall and the riverfront. What the 4th Street Bridge and the Taylor-Southgate bridge don't have is immediate access to Newport on the Levee or the Bicentennial Commons riverfront park in Cincinnati.. Although I believe the Taylor-Southgate Bridge has the best views of downtown Cincinnati, it is also a short walk to the parks downtown and the Levee.Still trying to understand how the bridge is an attraction but hey, it's free! Btw, this bridge and the attached cat-walk is also in need of a new paint job as several rust spots are clearly visible as any 142 year-old bridge would be.

Wanted to walk over to Kentucky and saw this bridge. I can't believe how old it is but it is nicely restored to a pedestrian/bicycle bridge. The city of Newport restored it and is a good link between Cincy and the Newport shopping area. Great views of the city and the river, a must see. They used to have a catwalk over the top but it has been closed off since 07!!

If visiting Cincinnati this area is a must. Newport was nice and had several good restaurants and things to do. One thing that was interesting is people engrave or mark their personal padlocks and lock them along the bridge.

We visited the bridge just to see it, but found that this is best for visiting Cincinnati as well. We parked in Newport early morning, toured all day in Newport and Cincinnati, and at the end of the day paid only $2 for parking.

It's not really purple... Would call it gray! We enjoyed evening stroll across bridge looking at skyline, river activity and many locks left by others on bridge. Great place for pictures! Highly recommend taking moment to experience this landmark!

This bridge is so convenient to go for a walk between Cinn and Newport, Ky. Very pretty views of both cities and the bridge is done up with benches and huge flower pots!

what an interesting history of this bridge. We didn't have time to crossover but its history is amazing.
