We waited in line but the line moved quickly as they had two boats (five floors) to load by 7:00PM. The biggest downside was the heater being broken on the third deck in the front by the windows. The fan was blowing cold air but the waitress did manage to get the fan turned off. It was a cold ride but we were able to walk to other parts of the boat to warm up. The food was fantastic! The service was fantastic! Loved it!
I have now taken three trips down the river on the riverboats and I absolutely loved it! The music was great and the view was great. I would go a thousand more times if it didn't cost so much.
We sailed with the B&B on 11/01/2014 for their "Admiral's Dinner Cruise". We were on the smaller vessel that had 3 decks. The dining area was confined to the first deck only because there were not a lot of patrons this evening due to the weather. We were seated on the window as we ticketed "window seats" for $10.00 extra a piece. The salads were served shortly before push off and we ordered a shrimp cocktail as well. The buffet was opened around 10 ,minutes after we set "sail". The food on the buffet was nothing more than "average". It was edible but nothing I would place above standard catered wedding fare. The offerings were roast beef or turkey as entrees and mac and cheese, roasted veggies, rice and biscuits as "sides". If you don't like dressing skip the salad. It is served with Ranch only and there is no "plain" or "on the side" option. The cheesecake was the desert and that was actually very good. The service was good considering Michael had a large group of tables he was assigned to. Nice guy that made us feel right at home. The view was great, the music was loud enough to dance to, but did not blow you out of your seat. We could still talk at normal levels to each others. The ship is open on all 3 levels and you are free to roam as you please. All of the staff people we encountered were friendly, professional and inviting. I was there with my two little girls and they had the time of their lives. They enjoyed the upper deck (as it is wide open and has plenty of room to roam), and the food options were enough they ate plenty for dinner. Overall a very nice time that we enjoyed immensely together. The crowd ranged from babies in strollers to a coupe celebrating their 60th Anniversary so it was an interesting assortment that we enjoyed this cruise with. We will be back and I suggest you enjoy an evening with them as well!
In July we went on the small boat, food was awful! We went on the big boat on 10-25 what an inprovement. Have been going to B & B Riverboat for years and this was the best food that we ever have had. The rice was so-so but everything else was wonderful Had an excellent waitress, Donna and she was the best! She was so kind and wanted to make sure that our ever need was taken care of, We are older and they had us sitting in the back away from the crowd with a lot of children. I would have to say what an improvement on the food and the appearance. They have new table tops where the food was served instead of the white table cloths that looked awful The only complaint we have is after the people are served they immediately pull the food off and take it up front to the other table. Why don't you just leave it for another 10-15 minutes for people to get a second helping? Also would love for them to put the salad bar back instead of giving us a small salad!
I went because of the reviews on line and planned an evening for my 11th anniversary with my wife. The boat needs to be blown up and rebuilt. The floor is unstable and carpet unclean, the ceiling water spots. I was totally disgusted and even more irate when I found a bug in my drink. I was there for the Fiesta which didn't make sense to me that they were playing old country music. The service was good, but not worth $60 per person. I will never go back and don't recommend this for anybody trying to have a romantic evening unless you are drunk and blind. I demanded my money back and left the boat before we sailed.
We have been completely nag for dinners cruises for years and love be BB. Only three stars because the food quality has gone way down.
The day of Karla n James wedding was a perfect party ! The staff was wonderful and soo helpful in every way. The food couldn't have been any better and again the staff was amazing. So thank you to B&B riverboats and each and every staff person who made the wedding so great.
Boarded the boat at 11 AM and were immediately served with beverages. The lunch was good, hot and just enough. The cruise up the river was most enjoyable. A good deal for the money, would go again and take visitors.
The cruise itself was beautiful. The best part for us was being able to go outside on the decks and take in the views. At first, I didn't realize you could go on the other decks. Once I found out, we walked up to the top deck where there was a DJ and lots of dancing. There was plenty of space to walk up to the rails and see everything. We went on a night when the Bengals were playing and the stadium was lit up. After departing the ship, we walked down to a small little park and sat on a swing to visit. Shortly thereafter, the post game fireworks started up. We had a front row seat to an awesome show. The only thing that I did not care much for was the food. It did not stay warm during the entire meal and was not as seasoned and tasteful as I would have expected. The view was worth the money though.
We did the September 7 Dixieland Jazz band dinner cruise as part of a driving vacation tour through Kentucky and Tennessee. We enjoyed the music on a warm and beautiful full moon night. Check in was quick and efficient. A photographer took a picture which he later offered for $20 in a professional looking folder including the boat picture. You aren’t required to buy it, but we did because it was actually pretty good. My prime rib was overdone, but the rest of the meal was pretty good. The coffee and cheesecake was also pretty good. There was a very limited wine selection. I have to mention the water. We asked for a glass of water to go with our meal and wine. This is the worst water I have ever tasted. They should switch to bottled water. I could not drink it. We spent most of our time just walking the deck, listening to the music, and looking at the sights (Cincinnati shoreline at night) along the way. For us this was a really fun experience, but the weather was perfect for us. I would recommend this, but you may want to wait and see what the forecast is before signing up.
we spent a leisurely Sunday afternoon on the Dixieland Brunch cruise. The brunch was well done with a good variety of choices and the food was quite good. The Dixieland combo was entertaining and provided interesting tourist guide remarks throughout the cruise. The entire staff was congenial. our cruise lasted 2 hours on a picture perfect fall afternoon. boarding time is an hour before the cruise - that's when to get here as the buffet opens on boarding, so you can enjoy your lunch or dinner and then be ready to go topside to view the skyline of Cincy and the Ohio river ride. if you have AAA > ask for the discount. the only negative is that after Labor Day - it's off season and the boat doesn't sail w/o a minimum of reservations which made it slightly harder to set our plans as we checked with the wishy-washy reservation line and couldn't get a straight answer.
This is a terrific way to view the WEBN fireworks! We boarded at 4pm, the cruise began at 5pm, we disembarked after the fireworks (between 9:30 & 10). They served appetizers while taking us on a short cruise on the Ohio river. Later, they served a nice dinner and had assigned seating so you did not need to worry about finding a table/seat for dinner. Appetizers & dinner were included, but not alcoholic drinks - they could be purchased on every level of the boat and were not too pricey (Bud Light was $3.50, Mich Ultra was $4.50). During the fireworks show, the boat was docked on the Kentucky shore between the 2 bridges, almost directly across from the barge that the fireworks are launched from, and most people were sitting outside on every level of the boat. It seemed that every seat (outside) had a perfect view. The ticket price was $125/person.The staff were efficient & friendly. We plan on doing this again in the future.
Good way to hear about the history of Cincinnati and see parts of the city down on the River. Nice and relaxing, but it was hot. I would suggest they have some fans added on the deck. Not really good for children they get broad easily.
Ending up having to go a dinner cruise, because our afternoon got cancelled because of low attendance. Dinner was good, they had some dancing after the dinner, I guess I was expecting to see more of the sights on the cruise but not so much
We made reservations well in advance for a dinner cruise with our Grandson, only to get an email on the date of the dinner cruise telling us it was cancelled due to low reservations. Sure, they are giving us a full refund of the dinner cruise, but we also had expense of staying in a hotel for two nights with nothing to do. We only reserved a hotel specifically for this dinner cruise. We arrived the evening before, went to Newport Levee today and checked out where we would board tonight. Then we walked back to our hotel and that is when I discovered BB Riverboats cancelled on us. We could not rebook as our Grandson will be flying back home. We had never been on BB Riverboats and I am sure we will not attempt to go again!
