My husband and I went here to see the Bit Players do improve and we had a blast! We can't wait to go again and we will be bringing friends and family with us nest time we go. If you are in Newport this is a MUST SEE!! It is BYOB (although they do provide soda and water) and they don't take credit cards but the tickets aren't expensive.

I've gone to see the bit players twice now and they were amazing each time! We LOVE Vlad!! I thought it wouldn't be as funny the second time but was completely wrong as the show is always different. It's easy to call and leave a message for reservations and its always fun to bring a bottle of something to sip in between laughs. Truly talented bunch and such a great and unique way to spend your night. I'm going back again tonight and am looking forward to cracking up the whole time! Even if a particular skit isn't as funny as the others, the main guy usually makes fun of whoever messed up and you end up laughing all the same. They're so personable and I recommend this show to everyone older than 18!

We were looking for something to do one evening in Newport and found the Bit Players online. We were lucky enough to get last minute tickets -- I would make reservations in the future. It's BYOB and there is a liquor store half a block away.It was hilarious and we had a great time! The audience participation is key and it's definitely adult entertainment - not for the kiddos.

Caught the Bit Players Improv on New Year's Eve. Very clever comedy troupe. We could have stayed for all three shows because each one is governed by the words thrown out by the audience. The 9PM show was sold out so caught the 7PM show. Small theater so all seats are good. Plus you can BYOB. What a deal. When the show was over there were at least five excellent restaurants to walk to.Gotta love Broadway!

This was a really pleasant surprise. Such a great cast, Improv, talented group. Amazing bargain, walked there from the town center. BYOB with soda and cups provided. BARGAIN Priced. We will visit again, certainly.

We took our 14-and 11-year -old boys and we all had a lot of laughs. The audience can't help themselves by throwing out naughty suggestions for scenes, but the bit players do a fabulous job of keeping it clean and fun.Our boys had never experienced improv acting and loved the entire night.I highly recommend going, and buying tickets in advance.

This was our first improv performance in such a small venue. The cast was hilarious and since it is such a small place the entire audience can really join in on the fun. The BYOB concept was interesting-you can pretty much bring anything you want to drink and they have cups and ice available. The ticket price of $15 is a bargain-but we had a great time! We will certainly go back the next time we visit Newport. One thing to consider-this is an old historic building, and my asthma was bothered by something in the air. Certainly not a reason to skip the show, but you may want to ensure you bring your inhaler if you are sensitive to that type of trigger

We were lucky to attend an improv perormance of the Bit Players and had a fantastic time! Very fun and a nice change of pace from usual travel entertainment.

When watching improv, there is some element of chance in terms of how good it will be. If you have a really creative audience and good comedians, you'll have a great show. We had a subpar audience creativity-wise and good comedians, which lead to a decent show. I was definitely impressed with some of the comedians more than others. Overall, we were entertained but not rolling in the isles. Again, we are partly to blame as the material we gave them to work with was pretty bad...they made the most of it though! Definitely a different kind of fun night out. It's a BYOB...there are a few liquor stores right near by to stop on the way. Call ahead of you are celebrating something. It was someone's bday and they called her up on stage, found out all sorts of things about her life, then turned it all into a song -- pretty cool!

Just wanted to include a quick note to let you (and all comedy seekers out there) know that we have two phenomenally talented female cast members (and we have a few more in our alums who come back to jump on stage every now and then). Unfortunately, we rotate the cast every show to keep it different but also because of people's availability, and you happen to come on a night when we didn't have any of our female players cast, but they are in the troupe. Thanks again for such a positive review. We can't wait to make you laugh again!

Where else can you get an enjoyable comedic performance for $10? I cannot believe anyone would think differently. The BYOB aspect is great too and gives visitors a real affordable option for a night out. We have been two years in a row. This summer was even better than last. The Bit Players work up some energy so that we felt that they were into their performances even though they do this every night. I just saw the "Whose LIne is it Anyway" actors at a fundraiser in NH and these RI performers were just as good. Keep it up and we'll be back next summer.

Thank you so much for attending one of our encore performances on Saturday night and taking the time to write a review! We are happy to make all of our guests laugh more. While our encore shows are at 10PM on Saturdays, about an hour and $10; our regular shows are at 8PM on Friday AND Saturday, are about an hour and 45 minutes with an intermission and are $15/person. ALL SHOWS ARE BYOB! We also do special event shows, private performances and extra shows around holidays and in the summer so always keep an eye on our calendar for dates, times and prices. Just want to put that out there in case anyone has a little confusion when reading these reviews. Keep laughing.

The Firehouse Theater packs in the crowds especially on the weekends and for good reasons. The improve troupe was very funny and creative. The audience adds to the laughs as the players ask for ideas for their skits. Quick thinking and acting ranged from good to hysterical.Definitely worth taking in a show. Reserve ahead as the seats fill up.

Went last September with sister and friends, wanted to go back in July but wasn't able to work into our schedule. This is an inexpensive treat...a lot of fun and it's BYOB, which really keeps the cost down. Tips can be given at the end and it's well worth the money.
