BIG was what you would expect for a family fun center in Bethel, ME! The laser tag course was awesome, but the vests and guns are seriously dated. The mini-golf course was pretty good and kept us interested. The water slide looked fun, although we didn't being swim suits to try it out, the people on it seemed to enjoy it. The arcade was small and can be completed in 30 minutes or so. There isn't much else around, so I would go again if I were ever in Bethel again.
We enjoyed laser tag, mini golf, and rock climbing as part of a groupon. The staff made us feel like second class citizens because we had a groupon. The arcade was full of broken machines. Laser Tag was fun. The mini golf course was full of large black flying insects. The one positive thing was the person who worked at the climbing wall. He was courteous, patient with my five year old, and really was a pleasure to talk to.
While on vacation my family and I came here to have some fun. We played mini golf first. The mini golf course was nice up until you get to the covered bridge and take a lovely look at the graffiti all over it. It even sports a very realistic penis!!!. Not exactly family friendly. We then played laser tag. The laser tag course is impressive with 3 levels. The equipment they are using is very dated and really needs to be updated. There were very small kids playing at the same time of us. I don't think that is the safest thing with a bunch of adults running around in the dark. We then went to the rock climbing gym. The gym is a very cramped space. The young lady working in the rock climbing gym was very inexperienced and was more concerned with showing off to people than showing people how to properly belay and climb safely. I recommend staying away from this rock gym until they get a person who actually knows what they are doing because someone is going to get seriously injured. Most of the footholds and handholds on the walls were loose. The whole facility lacks air conditioning so be prepared for that ( it gets hot very quickly running around playing laser tag and rock climbing).
What a fun day we had. 2 teens, 2 twenty somethings and the 56 year old teen! I played 7 games of laser tag, Went down the slide 9 times, totally keeping up with the youngins! Had a blast and so did each of them! This place is made for young and old and in between! Thanks Big Adventure, and hope you continue to be "the place to play"!!! By the way.. very reasonable for a day of play!
Wonderful time was had for the 4 hours my kids and I were at Big Adventure!!!!! The water slides were so fun and the mini golf was a very nice course. Kids had a blast in the laser tag and the rock wall instructor could not have been more knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic!!! Very reasonable rates and picnic tables available so one can bring their own food. We will put this on our 'to do' list for next summer as well!!!!
One of the great things about Bethel is that it has an amusement park right in town. It includes a huge 3 (?) floor laser tag arena, really nice indoor rock gym with great routes and I think they have a bowling alley as well. These operate year round and in the summer they also have a challenging 18 hole mini golf and a couple of waterslides. It's called the Bigadventure Center. The place offers a nice break from skiing or something to do after a day on the slopes.
