法拉盛新世界商城地下室的Food Court有麻辣香锅有麻辣烫有生煎馒头有狗不理……最重要的是,有满记甜品啊啊啊啊啊!立刻14.99刀买了个Combo当晚饭啃了!
This location is well know by the food court which is located on the basement. You can pretty much find different kind of Chinese and Taiwanese foods at this location . You will be able to find from appetizer to dessert at an approx. charge of $15-$20 ( this price include appetizer, main course and dessert at a portion for 1) I also strongly suggest to drop by third Floor between 12pm -3 pm ( Asian restaurant ) because that time you will be to find the most authentic Chinese food and it called " dim sum " On the first floor you will find an Asian " whole food" due to it large variety of selection unfortunately they don't se organic stuff. You will ask find a hageen Dazs store on 1st fl.Cosmetic and clothing are located on the second FL .
Lots of vendors selling Asian food (Taiwanese and Chinese mostly). I had the spicy chicken noodles and those were pretty good and unexpensive. At that time I was happy about my choice but I got sick a few hours later (felt nauseous and had violent stomach pain). It is possible I am not used to that type of spicy food but I eat asian food on a regular basis so I was surprised to feel so bad.Go and try it, at your own risk :D
This review is for the hot pot place (ugh! wish I recall the name of it). It's the vendor that blasts loud music. They have red tables set up specifically with units for the hot pots to be placed on top of. Combo for $9.99, hotpot & drink. AVOID AT ALL COST!Ordered the "bone broth". The picture the lady pointed at had clear broth. (The other 2 broth options were spicy and I don't do spicy.) When the lady brought out the hot pot, the broth was white and it smelled like milk... I just assumed that's how it was suppose to be since I recall that in Mainland China it is common to have a milk broth for hot pot. Figure I might as well eat it.Five hours later I'm on the plane with abdominal pain and feeling nauseous. Went to the doctor and sure enough....Thanks for the food poisoning! :(
Wow this place is full of culture. Went there after seeing it on the travel channel and was not disappointed. The food court had so many great vendors it took us 30 minutes to figure out what to taste. We had delicious noodle soup at one place and dumplings from another. We also had iced tea from 2 places. Then we went to the market on the main floor. Stayed for 2 hours and purchased some authentic spices, cookies and teas. This is a must see and experience for travelers and New Yorkers. Parking is crazy but there are a few lots that only charge $2 or $3 per hour.
I went to this food court with some friends from out of town, who are major foodies and very curious about Flushing's Chinatown. I was not hungry, but they let me taste the food they got for themselves. It had a wide range of quality. The hand stretched Dan Dan noodles served with chili sauce and vinegar were excellent. But from the same booth, the dumplings in soup were a waste of time. The soup needed lots of doctoring but nothing could save the overly doughy dumplings with bland filling. We sampled a somewhat obscure specialty, a "lamburger" heavily spiced with cumin and fresh coriander which had a bracing, vivid taste. Soft Shell crabs were very good, but served with a cloying slaw topped with mayonnaise. (I've observed the mayo phenomenon in Taiwan -maybe they got from the Japanese?--) and really have an aversion to it. At the same time, this bustling, noisy place is clean, and a total local hang, so you will get a nice feeling for the Flushing crowd, some good food along with the clinkers. If you go often enough, you will weed those out.
Just visited this place for the first time after being told by friends the variety of specialty authentic Chinese food one can get here. We travelled in from South Jersey and stayed in Manhattan for 2 nights. Took subway #7 to Flushing and found this place without problem. We tried hand made noodle dishes (stirred fry seafood, beef soup), braised beef noodle soup, oyster pancake, stinky tofu, shaved ice, and bubble milk tea. We were so stuffed and happy that we decided to return again the following day. Truly a different experience and the price is great compared to what we got in Manhattan.
Today was our excursion day to NYC. We decided to have both lunch and dinner somewhere near the venue of TOTEM. Hence, we decided to eat lunch at the food court of the New World Shopping Mall in Flushing. (http://www.newworldmallny.com/en/food-court) The mall is the largest indoor Asian market in New York State. We chose to eat whatever interested us and there were many to choose from. It seemed like the whole of China and Taiwan were there. I ordered soft-shelled crabs with rice from the stall of "海珍珠" Hai Zhen Zhu Seafood Restaurant. My mom ordered Taiwanese vermicelli and pork chop. Eew! As if we didn't come from Taiwan. The rest ordered steamed dumplings, noodles, stir-fried meat and seafood, crepes, etc. I was satisfied with my soft-shelled crabs but the rest of the food were no match with what we have in Taiwan.
Great place for a taste of Asia. There are about 28 restaurants in the basement that serves: stir fried lobster/seafood, crab dumplings, and durian desserts. On the first and second floors, there's a huge Asian grocery store and lots of little stores.
