Nice beach and also next to restaurants . I would recommend staying at bayview resorts near by. The night life in hampton bays is also good. Also the north fork wineries are near by.
It never wins awards although it should. The beaches are beautiful and beg, there are plenty of life guards, a snack shack and bathrooms. On second thought, it's not that great. Don't go there. ;)
Great long water view!!!! Great to walk/run for exercise with panoramic water views!!My favorite time is to walk/jog across during sunset because in the summertime it can last one hour. Safe, lights at night and so mesmerizing. Nice view of boats during the ny season.
Haha! This is an excellent beach...you can park for free if you're in the county parking area. Great waves and sand; you can walk west down the beach to Tiana Beach and hit their snack bar, great chow, worth the walk! My happy place.
you could be in the middle of all the activity by the life guards or find a Quiet spot nearby. very clean Beach
This is one of my favorite places to visit when I am in the Hamptons. You have to get there early to get a good parking spot.
if you want loads of space between you and the next towel on the beach then this is the place to go. Beautiful at sunset
Beach and water was great. Surprised to see so many people on the beach and in the water on a Monday in August.
it was clean, and the closest to the greek beaches, that i went when i was crowing up in my holy land:greece, the water was clean and blue, the local people were very friendly,.
Its a great stop. $20 for parking for ppl from outta town. Not crowded at all. We usually do day trips from NYC (takes 1hr45min or so driving). Tully's Lobster Co right before the bridge is a great place to pick up lunch before hitting the beach. The restaurants lined up on Dune road (Oaklands etc on the bay side) are good for dinner/drinks after!
I took my family here for summer vacation and had such a great time. We went to this beach 2days in a row because it was so much fun. We had 2 70 year olds, 3 30- something's, a 9 year old and 2 toddlers and we all had fun on the beach and in the water. Great boogie boarding, sand castles, restroom and rental situation and even the food was decent. The waves were big but the sand went out so far you could walk out into the water, even the kids. If I ever go back to the Hamptons, I will definitely go back.
Local family visits here often. We joined them on our vacation. Excellent beach with ample parking and adequate facilities. Plenty of sand, hence the road name "dune". Not high dune's, but plenty of sand for all. Excellent beach access for all ages. Shallow entry for the little ones and nice waves for older kids/adults to play. Volleyball courts. Lifeguard towers. Clam shells in the water are fun to collect, take home, paint, etc. No shade, so bring an umbrella. It is a bit of a walk from water to pavilion, so pack appropriately. Plenty of room to move East or West to spread out if you like your own space.Pavilion offers some food and equipment rental. Typical beach bathrooms and outdoor shower/sprayer to rinse off. There is a parking fee that may be as much as $30/day. Our family has annual resident pass so we didn't have to pay.
With a huge parking field and complete bath facilities, Ponquogue Beach is ready for you and your friends/family. Simply stated: it is beautiful and seemingly endless, with mile after mile of ocean lapping at your feet. You can walk for hours. Enjoy...
to be able to sit for hours with nothing but sand, sky and water truly brings you into a spiritual calming.
Grew up in HB and have been to many places in the Gulf, Pacific and Atlantic coasts. Ponquogue Beach is really a pretty beach with a nice pavilion , white sand and great people.Love the seagulls, people walking the shoreline..It's still on the top of my list.Kids playing in the sand,a food concession at the pavilion for food and ice cream, people reading, tanning, teens hanging together so relaxing! Good memories! Would like to be back.
