Such a wonderful experience and so much fun! I purchased a Groupon for my friend's birthday and naturally, I couldn't send her to trapeze class alone, so I purchased one for myself too. On my way to the site at Eisenhower Park, I really had to ask myself "What am I doing?". To say I was scared is an understatement. But when we arrived the staff/instructors did a great job of calming everyone's nerves. They made me go first, which I think really ended up being the best move for me in the end. I was very intimidated by the ladder (esp. bc I am ridiculously scared of heights) but one of the instructors climbed it with me and talked me through it, one step at a time. Once I was harnessed in, I took my jump and flew. It was incredible. Really an amazing experience. And although I was not very good at it, everyone was so supportive and encouraging, it didn't matter. (My friend did really great by the way, her first time too)I'm so glad that I went through with it and I'm so glad that the instructors were as patient and understanding as they were. They instructed you on what to do but never forced you beyond your comfort limits. I would recommend iFly to anyone who is looking to get out of his/her comfort zone & try something new and different! Thanks, iFly!
I always wanted try the flying trapeze. I knew I was a bit afraid of heights, which was part of the thrill of the attraction. I did not realize how terrified of heights I actually am until I climbed halfway up the ladder....then...gasp....looked down. I panicked. With the awesome support and encouragement of the instructors I was able to somehow climb the rest of the ladder to the platform. After some further encouragement, I was able to face my fear ...and fly. The first time was definitely the the most difficult. It got a little less scary each time I climbed up. I must admit I did chicken out at the end and was too nervous to attempt a catch. Other than that, I was able to face my fear and have a great time doing so.I cannot say enough good things about the instructors. They are friendly, humorous, patient, nonjudgemental and simply positive people. They helped me gain the confidence to face an almost paralyzing fear. I am so glad I tried this. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend iFly.
Took 12 girls here for an end of the year Girl Scout trip. All 12 girls, even the ones who were hesitant at first, flew. Amazing staff, so supportive and fun to be with. They even gave each girl a nickname!! Each girl had 5 times in the air, and then the ones who wanted to, and were ready to, went up again to be caught midair by one of the staff swinging from another trapeze. By far the most fun they have ever had!
We went to iFly for my bachelorette party and it was a great and unique experience! Not your typical type of party but everyone was great and we had an awesome time that we'll never forget! The staff there was so friendly and supportive and really took the time to get to know everyone in the group. I thought it was really funny when the instructor called us by nicknames based on what we were wearing "stripes...crazy pants...bonefish" They really made the time special and did an excellent job teaching and helping us all the way through. The hour and half zoomed by and I definitely am ready to go back and learn more! I was nervous at the beginning, but after the first run the height didn't bother me any more. I would highly recommend going, especially if you're looking for a unique, fun, and memorable time!
My friend and I signed up for the second to last day of the season (April-Oct.) We now see why they close after October. It was very windy and a little chilly but once you got moving, you weren't cold anymore. The staff there was very knowledgable and made a point to establish a rapport with each person in the class (up to 10 people per class). The class was an hour and a half long and believe me that is more than enough time! My class had ten people, and I would say we each got to fly about six times. The staff were very patient with those who were afraid and after each time you flew, they would offer you advice on how to make it better the next time you were up. The only part I did not like was climbing the very narrow ladder. The ladder is shaky, straight up, and you are not hooked to any harness until you reach the platform on the top. There is no place to store your bags, shoes, or other valuables so I recommend leaving your bags and sunglasses in the car. This was a great activity when you are looking for a unique experience or something different to do! I would definitely go back again.
This is a unique venue for kids - no matter what their age. The only snag in the wire is the high price you have to pay for a thrill.
I found ifly trapeze, located near Eisenhower Park on Long Island, New York while looking on the Internet. I wanted to give my sister-in-law and two nieces (9 and 11) a great and different gift. Marco and his team worked with me online to confirm our reservations. We had a ball. The team was safe, knowledgable, and the event was a blast! I would recommend this to everyone - no matter what age. When my niece was afraid, they worked with her and coached her until she felt secure and did it - she flew!! I cannot say enough about how wonderful this team worked together. I am in the 'over 50' club and I had a ball - you can too! This was/is a great way to instill confidence in any young adult. Well worth the time and money. ABOVE EXCELLENT!
