Estes Park is beautiful. Lake Estes is a must see because yous can see the entire area. There is a fee for boat rentals as well as canoes and platoons. You can also drive downtown and this is a great gateway to Rocky Mtn Ntnl Park. On the way, stop at the Gyro shop on your right hand side driving into RMNP main road.
Not everyone can drag there toys to the lake. Look for the Marina to fill the gap and get you going with bikes or boats or kayaks.Friendly good folks to deal with!!
Good exercise and great views kayaking on Lake Estes. You can get some nice photos from out on the lake but be careful not to get your camera wet if it's not waterproof. Great little shop with lots of useful things. Friendly staff.
Able to rent kayaks, sail boats, and pontoon boats to go out on Lake Estes. Pricey but, nice views of Estes park from the lake.
It was a hot afternoon so we went down to the marina and be by the water, we ended up renting these little boats and had a very relaxing time, it was fun.
We rented the pontoon boat for 30 minutes, which was just about right to cruise around the lake and get some cool photos.
Great prices for short outings on the lake. We took a kayak out on the lake and then rode around on the bikes for a while to dry off. Wonderful views from the water. Well worth the stop
My wife and I took a paddle boat out onto Lake Estes. We only took a half hour time due to the price per hour. While a bit on the expensive side for paddle boating, the lake was beautiful and wasn't very busy when we went. Very glad we did it and when we come back to Estes Park we'll be doing it again.
My husband and I took a paddle boat out into the middle of Lake Estes. It was so much fun and so peaceful! Totally worth the money, and even then it was a great price! Would definitely recommend!
We headed out to Lake Estes hoping for a relaxing time of kayaking. Unfortunately, it was quite windy and there were several motorized boats so the lake was quite choppy. We were ok, but others who were kayaking for the first time may have had some trouble. I guess just pay attention to lake traffic/wind if you are planning to Kayak. Its nice they have so many options for rental and you don't have to pay to park when using their equipment. The lake does have nice views of the mountain surroundings, but its really not that spectacular of a lake as some other locations, but we did have a good time!
My boys fished on the lake for a bit & had a blast. We rented fishing rods from the bait shop. Nice walking path around the lake.
Twice we have canoed on the lake and will definitely do it again on our next visit to Estes Park area. The staff at the Marina is very helpful and friendly. Lots of options besides boats on the lake. We have also used the bike rentals. The rental fees are very reasonable.
Beautiful views surround lake Estes. And then you have the extremely rude people who work at the marina. Note - managed by the local rec district. Absolutely unprofessional staff. Too bad the lake is so small that there isn't an alternative to put this horribly ran 'business' our of business.
They answered questions and seemed knowledgeable but were not exactly warm and inviting. Didn't think the pricing was all that great since we'd just rented a boat at a lake in Arkansas that was half the price. The lake area is gorgeous and the kids loved the playground. If you don't want to pay the $5 for parking go to Fisherman's Nook parking or to the visitor center
Rented a pontoon for 2 hours. Kids also kayaked and rented a bike. We fished off the shore after returning boat. Very clean place- reasonably priced. Wish we had caught a fish!
