Mountain Parks in Denver are great for hiking and getting out. Well maintained and usually bathroom facilities of one type or another.

I think Colorado should listed as 1 of the seven wonders. It is just beautiful. It is heaven on earth. if anyone has a chance, need to get away from reality. This state is just perfect.

Great natural beauty Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and Palmer Park. Drive or hike. Weather permitting.

Great drive up to Loveland Pass. Beautiful snow covered mountains. Had fun watching snowboarders hitch hike up the mountain and then snowboard down.

When Denver obtained and developed the amazing array of Mountain Parks well over one hundred years ago, someone had incredible foresight; Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Winter Park Ski Resort, Evergreen Golf Course, the sustainable Bison (Buffalo) herd, to name a few.

More beautiful views and hiking than you can imagine. I love to come here when I am in town visiting. Red Rocks is simply an amazing engineering feat! You must visit!

There are beautiful mountain areas that surround Denver. From the hotel room, day trips (or overnight trips) beckon. We like the Rocky Mountain area. We like to explore, fish, hike, enjoy the outdoors, and especially to view the animals. This area is what makes Denver special and a good city to see. We have visited several times so have been able to enjoy several of the parks; my latest visit as of this writing was May 2014.

Rocky Mtn National Park is one of those must do drives when you're in the Denver area. Starting with Estes Park (where you'll notice the hotel from "The Shining" and wonder how the heck they made it appear to be all by itself!) if it's fall there'll probably be elk running around in town. The views are magnificent. The aspens are breathtaking in the fall. Now if you really want to scare the pants off someone...after you warm them up with this nice, safe little journey...take them to the top of Mt Evans! That'll wake 'em up!

The tour with Greyline was superior to what I expected. Our guide was knowledgable. The views at red rock amphitheater are unforgettable. There are many opportunities for photos along the way. We also saw buffalo and deer along the way. I highly recommend this tour as a necessity for a memorable Denver vacation experience.

Went on a Grayline day trip due to limited time available. Apart from an issue with the original bus, the day went very well and I got to see something of the park and countryside. The day was quite a long one. A small group and a knowledgeable tour guide made it an enjoyable trip.

I recommend Rocky Mountain National Park. This is "Gods country" If you go do not go over a holiday. Holidays are crowed. You will not be sorry - this is a special place.

Those of us that live in the Denver area are fortunate to have all of these wonderful resources available so close, but if you are visiting Denver, it is worth your time to check out the Denver Mountain Parks system. Here you can discover hiking, picnicking, views, historical sites and even music at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
