A first rate tour with our guide, Robert! He was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Lotz family, their beautiful house and the exquisite workmanship of its owner. The Battle of Franklin wasengagingly detailed and made plain by our guide. The furniture was beautiful, particularly the Boelter pieces. Very happy to have stopped for a tour! Highly recommended!
Our Guide was passionate about the history of the area, the era, and of the home itself! Our tour was amazing, and full of details. All of our children, from the 6 year old to the teenager enjoyed their visit to the home!
A must see!!! Full of civil war relics. Our guide Robert was fantastic, he was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. There were things that were handcrafted by Mr. Lotz you will not see in any of the other tours!!!
We have toured five houses so far and while the Lotz was highly underrated we enjoyed it the most! Robert our guide was spectacular and was very enthusiastic about the history of the house. Deep in Civil War history! Fantastic!
The only thing negative I can say about this is they yell at you if u touch anything. But the retelling of the battle, was amazing! Highly recommend this.
It could be "very good" if the tour was not so long. In my experience, one hour would suffice. Instead our guide kept going about peripheral issues, going on and on. When focused on the rooms and objects, it was interesting.
The home has much of the original furniture, some of which was made by Mr. Lotz. The Battle of Franklin is integrated into the home's history so that it is a must-see site on a visit to Franklin or for any Civil War buff. Not expensive and worth the time and money. Across the street from the Carter House.
We have lived in the Middle Tennessee area for decades, but had no idea of the extent of the rich, dramatic history of our land. Our knowledgeable and experienced guide, Thomas, really knew his stuff and his passion for history was apparent and shared with us. I felt the spirit of the house, and of the horrific events that occurred there on the evening of November 30, 1864. The house itself and furnishings are amazing and beautiful. I felt like I had been transported back in time. The stories of the Lotz family were interesting. What an experience for them to endure. This tour is a must experience, we highly recommend it.
Loved the Lotz House tour! Take a walk back in time with this informative & heartfelt tour and learn about this family & this time in history.
A visit to the Lotz House in Franklin Tennessee proved to be delightful and educational when we visited the Lotz House. To begin, the tour guide was beyond knowledgeable and obviously passionate about the house, the family and Battle of Franklin. The original pieces of handmade furniture is truly stunning. I found myself amazed at the sense of elegance enjoyed by the family. Beyond furniture, their china, artwork and beautiful Tiffany and silver pieces was breathtaking. And the history of the time was educational. We so enjoyed the visit. By the way, don't miss the unusual piece of furniture in the music room. And we think we're so clever!!
