Neat little area to stop and get lunch, or snack. Has a soda shop and country store. Also has other little shops and putt putt golf course.

Pretty interesting tour. We learned about Casey Jones and his life and death and his family. We also got to tour the home he lived in with his family. While there definitely go to the buffet at the restaurant! It was delicious!!

My fiancé brought me here the first time around Christmas and I loved it!! The food here is awesome and very filling. And they have the best banana pudding I've ever had!! The store is cool, if you're into over priced costume jewelry. I would definitely recommend this place to people!!

Very much a local attraction. Museum is interesting for all ages and small enough to keep the kids happy. Small shops as well as the Old Country Store to eat. Food is typical Southern cooking. Amphitheater area hosts concerts in a safe family atmosphere.

This was a lunch stop on our coach trip of the Deep South. It is a very interesting place with lots on site. There is an old fashioned sweey shop, Ice cream parlour, deli, gift shop and vintage shop. There are steam engines and a museum too.We went to the buffet for our lunch. There were over 40 of us, the staff were very friendly, efficient and quick in serving us as well. There was a huge choice on the menu and a fantastic salad bar as well. You can eat as much as you want and the good thing is try a little of everything. It is all cooked well and very tastey too

Look to the back for more parking....I had just pulled in....and got some really dirty looks from someone thinking i wanted to take the parking place she wanted....we simply drove to the backside near other buildings and found ample parking. The place looked interesting and seemed like it had a real story to tell. Might have to go back when we have more time

We saw the signs for the southern buffer and stopped for lunch. The food was really good and reasonably priced. I especially liked the pulled pork and bannana pudding. The Casey Jones museum was interesting as was the Pullman car.

kids enjoyed seeing the museum, it was laid out well. Trains were very cool & museum was well maintained. Staff was a very sweet group of ladies.

One of the greatest Southern Cooking establishments anywhere. One of the best times of day to stop for the Buffett is around 10am. You will be able to get breakfast and then stay for lunch as they switch out the items. The skillet fried chicken is amazing. Large plethora of entrees, fresh veggies and breads with homemade soups. Try milling around in the candy and gift shop or if you are not in the mood for a full buffett you can try the ice cream shop for an old fashioned ice cream soda or the sandwich shop on the other side of the building. There are several other shopping establishments on the property and your little ones will love the train museum with a full line of Thomas the tank engine toys.

Arrived late so museum closed, shoppe still open & restaurant looked so enticing we decided why not give it a go for dinner & glad we did (although I've certainly eaten WAY to much). Great selection of cold & hot food for our buffet dinner, no labels on the actual dishes, so as it would be rude not to - tried just about everything!! Delicious......staff friendly & due to it being towards the end of the evening the restaurant wasn't too packed.....sadly didn't have room to try the famous ice cream....next time......certainly worth a stop...shame that we leave early otherwise would investigate the village & museum....as I say next time.....

I grew up hearing the story about Casey Jones. This is a very nice museum with a lot of great train memorabilia.

Love the old timey cars and trains. If you're at the store next door, do see the museum. Local history, rail history, and stuff for kiddos.

What an interesting place – a whole myth has grown around the first recorded ‘boy racer’ but this one was not in charge of a car but a train full of people! He saved a train full of people but killed himself because he was driving far too fast – the museum shattered my illusion of this train driver who spent his time doing good & being an ‘American hero’!! The museum is a hotchpotch of anything loosely connected with Casey Jones. The house is good to see, a nice period piece, not his actual house, I didn’t realise how well a train driver lived back then. The train is worth a look at. The museum staff are friendly. I’m sure train enthusiasts will really enjoy this but as for anyone else, you must make up your own mind. The restaurant across the road is a good place to eat.

We always though Casey jones was a fictional character! How wrong could we be. This museum was set up brilliantly with the engine, house, museum and shop, all very interesting. Spend a couple of hours here and ate in the restaurant which was very authentic, food was great!
