It was beautiful, serene and crystal clear. We were there off season so it was peaceful. We enjoyed the solitude of the lake and the surrounding mountain. The Lake Drive was nice. The small town very pretty. Worth the stop.
A stunning view of nature in the middle of exceptional scenery. The lake and surrounding area are pristine. One of the gems of the nortrwest.
Loved the peace and serenity mixed with the bustle of family friendly activities.GREAT food at local restaurants!
Beautiful room and a lot of activities. We were impressed with the environmentally friendly touches the resort was using. There were great restaurants and galleries nearby.
My husband and I drove through Couer d'Alane on our way to Seattle. We had never been there before. The lake is not especially interesting. There is bad traffic. We continued to get stares and rude service. My husband is Indian-American. We have traveled in Southern U.S. states, as well as parts of the U.S. I have never experienced such overt racism. I suggest any visible minority stay away from Couer d'Alane- you will not be safe or comfortable there. However, if you are a White Supremacist, this is the place for you.
Fantastic lake, I've been luck enought to speed across it at the wheel of a fast launch at 50mph, eat a buffet supper on it, swim in it and walk round it. The Mineral Ridge trail is a good walk overlooking Beaty Bay and Tubbs hill is a nice short walk, then there are the eating and drinking spots aroun it, the Beach house and Cedars.
Beautiful lake with very nice beach in the downtown area. Beach has a nice adjoining park. There is a nice little bar in the north east corner and food was good.
It takes the better part oft heyday to circle the lake. So worth it Lots of scenic views and places to stop. Lots of activities. Adequate restaurants. Peaceful atmosphere
North Idaho is blessed to have a lake that self cleanses. No matter how many people blindly and recklessly leave a wake of personal agenda and garbage, the CDA river and mother nature keep this lake thriving and beautiful.
I used to live across the street from the Coeurd'Alene Resort and what a gorgeous view. Everything is so very well kept, great food establishments, and walking many places is all within blocks. If you like sunshine, boating, hiking, etc. Coeurd'Alene is a must to visit.
Beautiful, tranquil lake surrounded by mountains covered with multiple types of trees. Lots of hiking trails. Great sailing lake, also good fishing. In the winter multiple Bald Eagles can be seen.
I was not surprised to learn that native American tribes from all across the northwest made a point of gathering on the shores of Coeur d-Alene Lake each year for what seems to have been one big summer picnic, replete with games and dancing and, of course, swimming. The city has made a neat little park in the northeast corner of the lake with its own swimming beach that was well-used when we were there in mid-September.
Hiking, biking, shopping, great restaurants, musical events, art exhibits, live theater and a beautiful lake. Need I say more. Coeur d'Alene has it all. But you have to be able to pronounce the name right.
Most tourists don't really experience Lake Coeur d'Alene. They come in the summer when it is really busy and riled by boat chop, especially the northern part of the lake near the resort. If one has the time I would suggest going south to any one of the bays on the east side, or go to Harrison and take the bike trail south. There one will experience the true beauty and serenity of this jewel.During mid to late fall is a wonderful time to experience this wonderful natural feature. Most of the boaters have gone home or put their boats away and the youngsters are back in school. Only the stalwart fisher folk are on the lake quietly trolling for the next catch or patiently sitting for that deep strike. The wind will combine with quiet wakes to set fractal patterns in motion ideal for meditative contemplation. This is when the lake is at its best.
CDA is just gorgeous! So many outdoor activities from hiking to boating. The lakes are stunning. Anyone would love CDA!
