lost rivers museum

The Lost Rivers Museum is housed in an old Methodist church next to the city's library. It is a treasure trove of artifacts and photos related to the history of the area. There is good info about the mines, the construction of the dam and reservoir, and the 1983 Borah Peak earthquake. The museum also has an old Linotype and a couple other old newspaper-related machines. Open 10-4 Fridays and Saturdays, Memorial Day through the end of September. Free admission.
