Didn't like the build up of the populace. to many houses that ruins the scenic views. No longer out in the country..
Found the Scott County Park on the Internet as a place to camp. What a wonderful place. Very clean, well maintained and great staff. I did not know the rules for camping, but was quickly informed as a first come first serve rule that I will abide by in the future. Thanks for an enjoyable experience.
My family came up to visit and rented a cabin for three days. While there my friend and I drove down from wisconsin to camp out with them. We arrived at 8 to register our tent. The lady up at the registration told us to go set up and to come back after we were done so we did. When we came back we went to go buy our lot and get wood and ice. She told us that we were to late and she wasn't going to get us any. We decided from the rudeness not to stay. We left and returned the following day. We stayed that night and at 5 o'clock my family was swimming and they kicked us out because they wanted to leave and there was only 3 to 5 of us swimming. They were not suppose to close until 8! We came back to the cabin and played a game then went home. On our way home we were leaving and the ranger had his brights on and kept coming near us we didn't recognize who he was he ran us off the road by some corn. He finally a that point turned his lights on and informed us that we were to leave earlier because gates closed at 1030 and it was only 1025 and it was our responsibility to. My family comes up every year but will not be returning due to the rudeness.
Working our way cross country found us looking for a stay in the Eldridge Iowa area. This park and the area (near Davenport) has so much to offer that we'll probably stay longer than anticipated. The full hookup RV park is beautiful with very wide, deep sites, paved parking area for both the RV and your towed car and manicured lawns in between. The price is right ! $22/night for full hookups. The park also offers a golf course which seems to also be reasonably priced and many off the road nice picnic areas. You cannot make a reservation for an RV site but we came in on a Tuesday, called ahead of time when we were about 1/2 hour away and asked if there were any available sites and the friendly gal in the office said 'yes' .
i have very fond memories here as a child and we took my sisters here in february and they saw many deer i would recommend
If you like your camping clean, low-key and family friendly, you came to the right place: Scott County Park. Each of five campgrounds caters to a different flavor of civilized car camping, from sun-baked to shady; cabin to 50AMP to "primitive". But even primitive campers enjoy hot showers and sparkling flush restrooms. (TIP: Tent campers get HUGE campsites!) Not a camper? Check out the 6-person cabins. Secluded, spacious, modern and clean. $130/night.Decorum at each campground is maintained by a host camper who is backed up by patrolling rangers. Your host camper also offers kiln dried wood (no kindling required).Well-tended trails lace the park and connect campground and attractions. Some are for hikers-only. Others are set aside for mountain bikers and equestrians.Other Attractions:+ Playgrounds and picnic shelters galore;+ Fishing in a stocked lake;+ Clean, well-managed Olympic-size pool;+ Beautiful and challenging golf course;+ Pioneer Village with ice cream parlor.All-in-all, Scott County Park may be one of the best campgrounds in the Midwest. Don't miss it.
We absolutely love Scott County Park. There are so many beautiful trails to hike and walk, and lots of places to just get lost for the day. The park also has a nature center with different animals on display. My favorite part is the pioneer village which is open in summer months. The village is set up like the 1800s and gives you an idea of how life was back then. Very cool Scott County treasure.
