My wife and I travel to Lake Bronson almost every weekend in the summer. Being from Winnipeg, it's a relatively short and easy drive, straight south on highway 59. We stay in the Two Rivers Campground which affords us the privacy and seclusion that might elude us at the Lakeside Campground as that one I find, is more suited to the family camping experience. (our children are grown) Sometimes I think that the Two Rivers Campground is the best kept secret in northern Minnesota as on more than one occasion, we found ourselves to be almost the only ones there whereas the Lakeside one is usually just about full every weekend. The hiking trails are second to none and the savannah in the springtime are flourishing with new flowers. And by the way, I have had no experiences with 'bad rangers'. I have found them to be friendly and helpful in every way. We'll be heading there as soon as the campground opens for the season. The only slightly negative thing I have to say is that the washrooms/showers in the Two Rivers Campground could use a little sprucing up. Otherwise, we're good to go.

I camped here labor day weekend for a night. The campground by the lake was full so we ended up at the other campground. It was actually great. The campsite was private enough with lots of trees and foiliage around us. Plenty of room for the tents and a decent enough firepit with food grate. It worked great for dinner that night. The campgrounds had 2 shower areas and lots of latrines thruout the area. The hiking trails were great and varied. The insects were almost non-existent when we were there. The sunset on the lake was amazing. My favorite part about staying here were the stars. Once the moon set the sky really opened up for us. I saw more stare here then I have ever seen in the BWCA. The Milky Way was so pronounced and the planets apparent. I couldn't have asked for a better night. I slept great and woke up late due to watching the stars so late. Just an epic amazing stay. The only down side was we did see a few piles of bear poop on the trail so there are bears around.

I will never go back. We where not even allowed to talk around the campfire after 10. There was a ranger that threatened he was going to call the sharif and have us removed cause we did not stop talking .. We where all sitting by our fire and minding our own business. When u camp you should be allowed to stay up after 10 pm. He was totally on a power trip. If you plan on being in bed by 10 then this is the place for you.

Many local folks use this old park with its distinctive CCC construction around a reservoir lake located near the extreme northwestern corner of Minnesota. But once a year in August, it is the site of the International Woodcarver's Convention. In addition to carving classes and completition, there are art and quilting classes and presentations by The Monarch Man. Food carts and art and crafts vendors and live music round out the occasion. A nice place to visit anytime, and a special destination during the convention.

Nice lake, Nice camp grounds, clean, quiet, and just plain peacful. Would definitely go again.

Its a beautiful place to camp or just go for a drive or even a boat ride .Fishing is god too. And you can always swim on a hot day as long as it isn't August.

There are plenty of hiking trails, campsites, and a picnic area. The observation tower is cool to see; you get a nice view of the surrounding forest. Pike, Walleye, Bass and Crappies are the main fish species that you can catch. The Visitor's Center has many beautiful displays of wildlife. There are also some historic sites in the park, such as pioneer cemeteries, former site of a sheep ranch and a WPA fort, and lastly Minnesota's largest Jackpine Tree. Anyone who loves the outdoors will enjoy a visit here.
