destiny cruises - day cruises

Confusion in the office as to time of departure. Web site says one thing, office agrees to a different departure for our group. Cruise departs an hour before the time quoted. Not good. Some people from our group are left at the dock, picked up after boat was at sea for an hour, then continued for two more hours. Friendly bartender. Credit cards system does not work smoothly and is inefficient. Hard to accommodate a large group. Not enough food on board, some people did not get anything for lunch. Great Captain, very personable. Yacht is very comfortable....large bathrooms. About 50 - 60 people aboard (capacity 120?), easy to move around. 2 hour cruise goes by very quickly. Logistics / Management needs work. Food is definitely mediocre. $67 total for two people with tax and port charge.

Me & three of my co-workers went on the lunch cruise this past Saturday. I had booked and paid for the tickets back in April. But when we got to the dock to board the boat, they did not have us on the list of people. But they let us board and looked into it further and found our info and payment. But we booked so far in advance, they said their software wasn't up & running the way it shoudl have been then. But they have it all fixed now. Either way, I was glad they let us board and everything was figured out right away. We did not know that the whole entire ship would be filled with people that had to be about 75 years & older. I really really wish we would have known that prior to Saturday, because I would have asked if we could change the time we go, like maybe to the dinner cruise. The music they played on the boat was clearly geared toward the crowd of senior citizens. That made for a very LONG ride. It made me want to go to sleep. The food was really really good at least. And the boat itself is beautiful! The ride is very nice and scenic. It was a beautiful day, so that was a plus! The bartender, Maren (sp?), was awesome! She was so friendly and upbeat. I shoudl have asked her to change the music to something more upbeat. We loved it, excpet for the crowd that was on board made it very very long. I would suggest asking them before you book, about the day you want to go and if they know about the group on the boat for that time. I would have changed in a heart beat had I known. I don't like to feel like sleeping during the middle of the day when I am on vacation. Oh, and the downstairs part of the boat is inside and air conditioned. And they have two very nice, roomy, and clean bathrooms on the boat. I was happy about that!
