I attended a well-rehearsed performance by regional actors, singers, musicians and dancers to celebrate the winter soltice. To my dismay, I only saw half of the show due to the VERY low STAGE combined with seats not aligned in such a way as to prevent tall people blocking the performance. Dancers' feet were totally obscured! I never saw ANY of their dance steps. With all of the money that is donated to Dartmouth College, this performance hall should have been reconfigured ages ago! Proud parents and grandparents brought siblings and relatives to honor the children, musicians, choral groups and thespians, but I noticed how many of the youngsters were slumped in their seats with only the back of the seat in front as a view! They have missed the thrill of the magic of theatre for they could not see the stage! I spent two hours driving and $76 for two tickets. Dartmouth College needs to rectify this so that EVERYONE CAN SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING ON THE STAGE! Surely an Ivy League college can do better than this!!!!,P.S. Should you decide to patronize this venue, be advised that many people had trouble with short flights of stairs at the main entrance, and locating the ticket office down a hall to the right, and then up another set of stairs to the theatre where the line started at the stairs! Parking was easier than I expected as meters do not require coins as they also accept credit cards with a 20 cent fee. After 5:00p.m., feeding the meters is NOT needed in most locations, though be aware than some are only for short periods. Just read the information on each meter. Do you have influence with people with power at Dartmouth College? If so, SPEAK UP!
