Monkey trunks was ok. I was expecting more staff members to be around to help. I had kids 9,10,and 12. I didn't like the fact that you can only do each course once. Well my kids were not going to do the last 2 1/2 courses so it would have been nice if they could have went back around. I think it's on the expensive side for what you get. My 9 year old daughter was really nervous at first and she ended up doing fine. I think it is a great confidence booster. We would not go back to Monkey Trunks.
Our six year old son was nervous at first. By the second time around the kids' course, he was elated and so proud. Can't wait to get the whole family climbing. So fun.
We recently visited Monkey Trunks with a group of teenage scouts. I felt that the course was well constructed with a large variety of challanges and activities for all our boys and adults. The facility was well staffed with instructors who were both knowledgable and patient. The facility was big enough to handle our group and were also flexible enough to handle our individual requests. The boys are already talking about a return visit.
We took our five year old twin boys to Monkey Trunks so they could do the kids' course and they had a blast. The safety instructors were great with them - very involved at the beginning of their time on the course and then gradually pulled back as the boys "got it". A little on the expensive side, but well worth it. The boys want to go back and the next time, I'd love to do the adult course.
My son is 9 years old and he had been here before to use the children's course but had outgrown it and so he really wanted to go on the adult course. So he and his uncle went and my son had kept saying he really wanted to reach the yellow flag level, which is the highest. As he worked his way there he was encouraged by my brother of course but also by instructors who were on the course, there to help visitors and to make sure people were safe. They were truly great with the kids. In fact when my son was getting his harness on one of the instructors walked by, stopped and turned back around and said "I remember you! You were here earlier this year and on the kids course!" and he was so happy to see her and that she remembered him. She was wonderful with him. So needless to say my son did reach his goal and promptly told me when he got to the end he said "Mom I did it! I reached my goal!" It really helps build confidence and strength of character. We go every year.Thank you!
First of all there were children unattended that we're WAY too small to be doing that ropes beginners course. Second, there were these supposed "safety instructors" around to help you through the course. Let me just say that the only time I saw them was in the beginning when they were giving me instructions and when I looked out from the top of the second course and saw two way down at the end sitting on a fence with their backs turned to me-completing missing the fact that kids and many adults were overcrowding the unstable structures and not abiding by any of the rules so much that I actually had an anxiety attack in the air on a structure and immediately took the nearest exit. Nobody was there up in the structures helping to navigate people through who wanted a challenge but we're still uneasy through the course. We were left to our own devices and surrounded by chaos and over crowdedness. I will NEVER do any monkey trunks courses again as it was expensive and I felt that I didn't get not even half of my money's worth experience wise. I do NOT recommend going there AT ALL if you want a mediocre challenge and a fun experience because you simply will end up: not feeling safe, overwhelmed and ready to quit and you've spent a hundred bucks to do this. An absolute rip off!
My family had an absolute blast!!! The staff member's are awesome, they take the time with you to explain each and every step. Be prepared for to have FUN!!!
My kids had a great time! I just wish some of the employees were a little more helpful and incourging when my daughter was having a hard time but overall it was a great experience
We went with our 7 year old son.......we had a blast! Monkey Trunks was very challenging, exciting and thrilling! A great family bounding outing!
I went with my 9 year old son - we had a BLAST...it was hard, though...definitely got a workout in! We can't wait to go back next year. I only wish there were more options for younger kids - my 6 year old couldn't join us (the stuff she could've done wouldn't have occupied her time for long enough).
I was astounded at how much fun Monkey Trunks was! I am nearly 60, go to the gym every day, and try to stay fit. This was my first zipline experience. I believe a visit to Monkey Trunks showed me WHY I do this every day. I loved, loved, loved the four hours I spent on zip lines and obstacle courses. I did the entire course, from start to finish including the Black Course. It took strategy, focus, and endurance and it was GREAT! I'd do this again, like right now. What an empowering experience!
9 year old daughter and husband really enjoyed it. If kids are below 48 inches they are limited to what they can do but they still have a fun time.
My wife and daughter spent almost 3 hours monkeying about at this incredible stop. They had a blast and I had fun watching them (afraid of heights!). There were 6 zip lines and some great challenges. The Black Course in to the trees was a definite highlight. The staff were very helpful and the equipment was easy to use once they explained it. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic time. A must for any age. Can't wait to return and do more challenges. A+ for the staff in their help and direction on the ropes
This is a great place to challenge yourself, but do so in complete safety. If you can do it with the whole family, all the better! If not, there are many places to enjoy your visit as a spectator. Our instructor this past Friday (8/8) was Bryce. She was very good, very thorough and didn't miss an opportunity to be helpful. We really enjoy doing all the sections of the course. Fortunately, even when it is busy you can keep moving along. The "black" part of the course could be a little harder, but it's still one of the only places you can try - and hopefully succeed with - challenges of this type. Overall, the 5-stars are well-deserved!
