When old friends from out of town visit us, Terhune Orchards is one of our favorite destinations to dispel the notion of NJ as an urban sprawl State. A quiet gentle farm with a country store with organic homegrown fruits and vegetables and the best donuts on the planet.

I like them lots! They also have lots of other fresh veggies, fabulous apple cider, and homemade donuts. The wine tasting is fun too.

Bring the kids for a day of mazes, animals, pumpkins and the best cider doughnuts ever. The orchards frequently host events such as Wassail and the music doesn't stop. Their pies are delicious too!

Fun for the kids and adults. Kids enjoy the animals and playground. Adults can sample the wine. Tons of goodies in their store, especially the cider doughnuts!!!!!

The animals, the food, the wine and the atmosphere is always wonderful...kids as well as adults will love it.

Terhune Orchards is great for families to pick Apples, blueberries, strawberries, and veggies. It's such a beautiful place to visit. They have a cute store where could buy fresh fruits and vegetables, Apple cider, delicious pies and cookies. They have a wine tasting barn. They have small trucks that kids could ride for free. They have fenced farm animals you could feed with corn kernels. I've been going here for years with my son and he loves it ...especially their home-made cookies! It brings beautiful memories of my own childhood growing up in a large farm. So worth for children to experience the wonders of nature and simplicity of a farm living experience!!!

Cider Donuts! Pumpkins! Apples! Fresh Fruit! Wine??!! Flowers! The aromas and tastes that come out of Terhune Orchards, located in Princeton, NJ are some of the best anywhere! Pam and Gary Mount have owned and run this family operation for years and share their wonderful produce, wine, seasonal items (pumpkins, gourds, etc) with a very large client base. I've been going there since 1987 and keep going back. The cider is amazing, the apples and other fruits are fresh, and perhaps one of the most intriguing and delicious items is the homemade apple salsa. I've shared this with friends and the container was empty within 30 minutes! It is delightful adn unique. Need an apple or peach pie? Perhaps a bags of freshly made cider donuts or donut holes? Or maybe you're in the mood for some smooth, award winning homemade wines, Terhune's is the place to go. If you are a photographer, make sure to bring your camera. The orchards offer an amazing floral experience to take photos of. Families with young children should bring them every time to enjoy the live animals and play areas that are there especially for the kids in all of us. I mentioned wine earlier. A small group of us enjoyed a sampling of their award-winning wines and fell in love with the bouquet and smoothness of their homemade wines. As you can tell, we love this place. If you're in the Princeton, NJ area, it is worth a stop. Once you do, you'll be back over and over. One note... if your'e planning to go during the fall around thanksgiving and halloween, there will be a wait and a heck of a lot of people who also enjoy the orchards as much as we do.

Terhune Orchards used to be a small town farm stand that was easy and fun to visit. They did (and still do) have great produce, wonderful doughnuts, and cider. Just be carefull, because at peak times of year they charge an entry fee. Also, if you go to pick a pumpkin, you will pay dearly for the experience. Our normal size pumpkin would have been around $15. Ended up going to Sams club and buying one for $4. Don't get me wrong. if you visit on the weekend and go early, everybody will have a lot of fun. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

This is a great place to visit especially during the Fall. With fresh fruit and veggies as well as events during festival season, the whole family can have a day full of fun. Alongside a working orchard and farm, is a winery and vineyard owned and operated by Pam and Gary Mount. They took their first adventure in grape vines back in 2003. Among the varietals planted are Chambourcin, Vidal Blanc, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Terhune wines have been available for the last four years. In addition to grape wines, apple wines are also made here with apple cider. Additional grapes from other vineyards are also sourced for wine making. The tasting room is in a historic 150 year old barn. You can belly up to the wine tasting bar and select from eleven wines. There are two good whites to try. The Farmhouse white is a white grape blend with a nice Chardonnay crispness, without being overly oaked. The Chardonnay has just a touch of oak and a clean, crisp dry finish. The Vidal Blanc is a nice smooth wine with fruity aromas and flavors. For reds, check out the Chambourcin. It is medium bodied and dry with a fresh finish. The Apple wine is actually a dry apple wine. It's crisp, aromatic and presents some citrus notes. The Barn Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc (50/50). The tannins on this one are soft and it is one of the fuller bodied varietals available. The Red Rooster is a sweeter red, but not too sweet and is quite pleasant. The Cold Soil White is a semi-sweet blend of Vidal Blanc and Orange Muscat. The two white grapes complement each other quite nicely in this wine! After the Cold Soil White, try the Porch Breeze. It will be similar to the Cold Soil, but with Niagra grapes providing that sweet blush shade. Strangely, it almost taste like strawberry wine! The Just Peachy wine is actually an apple wine made from cider with peach essence added. It will keep you happy and warm on those first chilly fall nights. End off with the Harvest Blue, a mix of blueberry and apple, for a nice tart and crisp taste. You'll be pleased with everything you try here. Take your time here when visiting. The country side setting and locally made wine is a wonderful setting! Cheers!!

The two woman who served our tasting were so very nice. You felt like family while stopping in! It was 5.00 for a tasting and they allow you to share a tasting which most wineries frown upon. It was a nice walk around the country store. Very down to earth! Wines were very good and made with fresh fruit grown right on the farm.

I work near Terhune Orchards, so I often run over at lunchtime to pick up a few items from the farm store, or buy herbs and flowers to plant in the spring/summer. The guacamole is fabulous, the pies are heavenly, and the cider doughnuts ... well, let's just say that I left the store with 12, and by the time I got to work, there were eight ... I recently did the wine-tasting for the first time, and some were surprisingly good. The Farmhouse White and the Barn Red, two blends that I expected to be just so-so, were really delicious. The Vidal Blanc also was excellent. I'll definitely be back for more!

Terhunes is a must stop if you love apples, cider, baked goods---try the pies it's worth it. Terhunes has a little something for the whole family. Kids can feed the animals then play on the slides while the parents sit in the swing and enjoy their freshly baked goods. You can take the family for a little walk around...its unpretentious just plain family fun

We go to Terhune every year for apple picking. We liked it because it was cheap to get in, some farm animals to see, BBQ usually going (one time we even made it to the pig roast), and live music. The apple picking usually has a good variety. This year wasn't so much fun though. The apples were all picked out in the main area, so you had to drive two miles to the other side to pick apples. The first six or seven rows had no apples whatsoever, and most paths were a little flooded (which made using a stroller horrible.) Quite literally, there were hundreds of rotten apples lining the paths...which meant tons and tons of jack bees...so careful if you or your little ones have allergies! We finally found rows with some apples, and picked a few and got out there fast. The bees really ruined it...it was like walking in a hive. The main location, where you pay to get in to, was extremely crowded this year and as a result, we just left early. This might be the last time we go to Terhune unfortunately...we tried Von Thun Farms in Monmouth county and preferred them so much more.

We've been going to Terhune Orchards for over 20 years. The past few years it's just been way too crowded and they charge $5 to get in. The apple picking is still really good, it's located down the road from the main farm/store. If you plan to go Sept-Nov make sure you go very early when it first opens up. If you don't parking will be terrible and it's just way too crowded to be enjoyed.

This farm/orchard/vineyard/winery is a fun place for the whole family. We were there for a wine tasting and it was some sort of festival going on! There are flowers, fresh produce, food and activities for the whole family. The wines are right up our alley~Sweet, fruity, easy to drink and delicious. Stop by!
