Recently saw Wizard of Oz and it was a very professional cast. The show was well presented and most of the cast was well suited for their parts. The tickets are very reasonable, but the theater is upstairs and there is no elevator. The staff is very friendly and anxious to please and the parking is very easy. They do several shows a year and they are one of the better community theaters in the area.
The Rhino Theatre is a great small community theater. They have several productions over the course of the year, as well as children/youth classes and private lessons available for all ages. We were there in the summer to see Legally Blonde The Musical, a summer youth production which was very well done. When we heard they were doing a production of The Wizard of Oz this fall (adults), we knew we'd like to go back. We were not disappointed. The quality of the performers was superb. With ticket prices in the mid $20s, it is a very reasonable price to see a theatrical performance. The theatre and stage are small, as is the case with most local/community theatres, but you do not feel cramped for space. In addition, the best part is that there is truly no bad seat as the seats are stadium style seating. The theatre itself is on the second floor so it is basically stairs to get up. If you have difficulty with stairs there is a chair climbing wheelchair that they have available, but it is only one, so I would let them know in advance. We plan to return!
Great place to catch a show . Even seen Les Mis & didn t have to go into NYC to see it . Tickets were MUCH cheaper than NYC . Wizard of Oz to start soon . Will be trying to plan to see it
I have now seen several of their productions, from full scale musicals, to holiday shows, and most recently their anniversary Gala reception & musical review. The performers are a typical mix of local performers. Some are "dedicated", but with limited talent. Others are borderline to equity quality! I have met with several of the "regulars", and they all work very hard to put on really good shows. A lot of the credit goes to the artistic director and producers. Of note is the fact that they not only put on shows, but also provide theatrical education experience/classes for young future "stars". If you are in the area when a show is on - it will be an enjoyable evening (or matinee) for you if you go. Ticket pricing varies, but tends to be in the $20-30 range.
Owners are very nice and friendly, great shows, family, kid and adult shows are shown there. Prices are so good and shows are worth the trip!! Parking around back of building and no charge for parking.
This theather is now used mostly for local actors/ actress to put on plays. Young Children to Seniors also take acting classes here. Very onl theather with few updates. Very tight seating but small enough that not a bad seat in the house. If you want to rememder a 1950 theather this is one of the few left.
Great place, cheap price of $23 or so per seat and you get to see a sample of great talent of Pompton Lakes, NJ. There are always seats available here it seems. Alot of Broadway wannabes fill the stage. A cast that tries their best. Give it shot, you can't go wrong!
Local talent given a chance to perform. Broadway shows performed professionally. The theater is very small and tends to be crowded
Went to see The Little Mermaid with my 5 year old granddaughter. The theatre is small so all the seats are excellent. Prices were pricey for a local theatre prodcuction. The cast was very good and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Parking in the rear in the municipal lot.
