March is off season and not full of tourists. A good thing for us visiting the state and the city for the first time. Many shops cut their prices by half and it was our chance to obtain turquoise jewellery at a good price. We had lunch and dinner in Old Town and enjoyed it each time. It is a good place to take a walk and see artists work. I notice that it was too quiet when the weather was colder or the sun was a little shy.

Loved all of the culture, food and shopping. Don't miss this area of Albuquerque. Plan to spend a few hours here and make sure you eat there.

Paid small fortune for taxi to go to there and back to hotel. Many places were closed. Very disappointing. Maybe weekday is not time to go.

This is a place we visit on each of our trips to Albuquerque. The shop owners generally are helpful and friendly. Today we got a recommendation to stop at the Celtic Shop - what a cool little place with items from both Ireland and Scotland as well as work by local artists. You can find lovely high end art and jewelry as well as inexpensive souvenirs at the various shops. Spend some time, have lunch and enjoy your time.

Old Town Albuquerque is a quaint area, older but quaint; prefer daytime trip, wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriate to weather conditions.

Old Town is definitely the must see destination in Albuquerque. If you haven't been here then you haven't really seen all of the Duke City. The shops are great. Lots of wonderful Native American art, jewelry and craft items as well as delightful imported crafts from our neighbors to the south in Mexico. Some cool places to dine and lots of fun at many of the evening events in the central plaza. And, if you are in town, you have to visit Old Town for the giant Christmas tree lighting at Don Luis Plaza next door to the Basket Shop.

This is a nice little area with lots of little shops with everything from tourist junk to fine art. There're also several different restaurants to choose from. It's all outside but there is plenty of shade if it gets hot.

Some good friends took us here on a recent trip to ABQ. It was a fun place to eat lunch, walk around, pop in and out of the many shops, see the historic church, etc. It's kind of like a smaller version of the square in Santa Fe. Nothing super striking to see or do, but a great way to spend a few hours at the same time.

Was in ABQ for just the day and needed a workout. I like to ride and the staff at the Hyatt recommended Routes. I contacted them and they outfitted with the right size Hybrid to take on Paseo Del Bosque Trail, the premier bike trail in ABQ. ABQ is a bike friendly city and the trail was a short ride from Routes. The perfect way to enjoy the outdoors in ABQ.

I am going to start with the excellent part. I enjoyed window shopping and some of the local artists work sold at some of the smaller shops were beautiful-gourd vases, oaxanon animals, paintings, and of course, jewelry. RedEarth Spirit, the Yucca Art gallery and places near those two are highly recommended. There are a lot of shops here so you could easily spend the entire day shopping. I was, however, turned off by the prevalence of "made by a real indian!" jewelry at many of the shops. It was a lot of generic mass produced stuff you would expect to see at a mall in like Michigan (no offense to Michigan). The prices were high for what was there. I was at the Grand Canyon last year and got a beautiful pair of turquoise hoops and had hoped to find some similar earrings here for friends. A comparable pair of hoops like mine were $60+ when I paid under $40 for mine. My advice is to visit the small side shops and buy things made by named local artists. There were only few places to eat, which kind of surprised me. I ended up eating elsewhere.
