el vado lake state park

we made reservations based on current information from the Rangers at the lake. We were told the water level was better than the past 2 years. We stayed May 23 thru May 31. The lake was 50-75 feet low, we were able to get the boat in, but had to compete for space with the carp. When we purchased a license to fish, they said the fishing was good, with mostly trout. I tried everything I had and nothing for 3 days except snagging a couple of carp.We did hike the trail, and that was very nice.I would NOT recommend staying here

I would guess the lake is at 1-5% of what it used to be. There's hardly anything there now!We were going to camp there but everything is run down, and elected to keep driving instead.
