This non-profit Gallery looks like it belongs in Santa Fe rather than the small, former railroad town of Rodeo NM. The displayed art is diverse, ranging from $3 bottles of homemade prickly pear jam to $3,000 landscape oil paintings. There's something for everyone, including books by local authors. Ask the friendly staff to tell you about the history of the building. It too is very interesting. Definitely worth a stop, even if you're not 'shopping.'
I just love going to Rodeo! Perhaps it's because I would rather be anyplace else but in Lordsburg the Ghetto. The people I've met in Rodeo have all been friendly and the area is clean and surrounded by the most amazing mountains which are obviously a strong influence on the talented artists who have their work in this sweet lil' gallery. It's a nice place to visit and would be a groove to live there.
This gallery has the whole range from crafts to fine art and sculptures. Everything from weaving to glass to welded art. It's worth a moment to check out and see what's inside.
There are many featured artists from the very residents of this area. The Gallery is easy to find as it sits right on Hwy 80 as you go in either direction. The Gallery has undergone several revisions and continues to maintain excellent quality of paintings, woodwork, pottery and almost any other type of canvass for beauty you could imagine. I find it relaxing to sit in the Gallery and just see the beauty each artist brings to their type of work!
I've been shopping here for years and highly recommend this to anyone I know traveling on scenic Old US Hwy 80. Over the years I have bought world class art by Dan Rehurek, Crystal Foreman Brown, Susan Downs, Christina Rogers, Susan Hill, and David Utterback. You never know who will be showing here. Stop in, you WON"T be disappointed.
