frontier texas!

We visited on a Thursday afternoon. We waited about 4 minutes for the movie to begin. It was well done and interesting. At the end of the movie you exit to the museum which had a number of interesting exhibits. We saw the history of this part of Texas from several perspectives (Native American, women, army officer, freed slaves, cowboy). At the end there is another movie that is in the round. It employes some special effects. You leave that theater and walk past a display of guns from the time period. We really enjoyed this museum and would recommend it if you are going to Abilene.

It was closed when I arrived on Sunday but I did get to see the world's largest buffalo novelty skull through the fence and the buffalo cutout ironwork also.
