Rosston, Texas is a small Cooke County Community South of Muenster, Texas and Southwest of Gainesville, Texas that was once was the hideout of the infamous Texas outlaw, Sam Bass. The Rosston General Store and Post Office is located in a beautiful remote rural area of rolling hills with many live oak and other trees. This store has resisted much of the change to the modern times and is probably very similar in looks now as it was when starting operation in the late 1800's. The store has been the subject of several newspaper articles and still has the horse hitching post in front, which is still actually used at times. Inside the store you will see numerous decorations that qualify as true antiques representing the long past years of operation. It's also the "central meeting place" for the locals of the Community with their colorful conversations that range from current politics to the history of the area. The store is owned and operated by Nick Muller who is a descendent of some of the early German settlers in that area. If a person enjoys American history or just want to step back in time to a more peaceful and relaxed era, we certainly recommend visiting this site.
